I have been playing video games for 22 years it hasn't affected my empathy. It has however fine-tuned my reflexes. Quoting: LeoVonFrost Like this guy says, My empathy is still fully functional, though I would say that perhaps the 'Shock and Awe' factor of some more grizzly aspects of life has been softened by what I have seen on the nets. Most people are quite capable of understanding that internet play and real life are two very different things even though they overlap. It's not seeing the blood and guts that make you hurl anyway, it's the smell.... |

But no video games only harm weak minded individuals on a mental basis. Now you being from japan (ip based) and me being a 22 year old Otaku from america...I will gladly say Japanime kills/gives my/me emotions Way more so than Shittieo games do now adays... I being a hard core gamer in the 1990's and early 2000's find gaming today to be fucking pathetic and consumer based. PC ONLY now.... |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 19490298 United States 05/31/2013 12:07 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The internet should now be considered a full on social experience. There should be terms and conditions on every website. It's hardening to hear the profane and violent language used day after day. We don't pull up to a drive thru and say...gimme a fckn burger. That statement will get you a snot filled burger. Why should we accept less on the internet than in human to human contact? No one is infringing on free speech. Expletives can be replaced with more respectable words. I'm just not into this vulgarity that is in abundance everywhere. It's dehumanizing and yes...it does cheapen life. |

I don't go around insulting people on the net because they can't get back at me. The internet is just a tool to stay connected. |

I felt sorry for the rabbit but what you gonna do, we learnt mortality at an early age, for better or worse. |

Under the facade though, beats the heart of an emotionless killing machine. |
