Quoting: palladium 38169094 2 story apartment, new a.c. unit, nice and cool downstairs, with only 2 vents. Upstairs is super hot all day and night, and there are 4 vents. I am stumped. Thank you for this 'cool' public service, in advance! Sounds like your downstairs vents are wide open... Close all your AC Vents downstairs enough to where they're cracked open a bit, and then do the same upstairs. You need air pressure to equalize throughout the house. The colder air will push out through the lower two vents, because it's lower and easier to escape through. (Cold air falls, warm air rises.) With the lower two vents cracked open, it causes air pressure to build up and be forced out of the upper vents. Good luck! |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 40933222 here are some do it yourself tips that may help save you a service call 1. Change your air filters!...every 30 days!! 2. Clean off your outdoor unit...lots of times folks unwittingly blow grass clipping onto the Condenser coil...take a garden hose and gently spray those off...you can use some full strength "409" household cleaner or something like "Simple Green"...just make sure to rinse it off completely 3. make sure nothing is stored on top of the Condenser fan, blocking the air flow... anybody got any other questions? Where is the coil? Who is John Galt? |
