Family members of Texas farmer Larry Goodwin said there wasn't an inch of his body that didn't wasn't stung by the estimated 40,000 killer bees in the nest that caused his death. According to the Daily Mail on June 2, 2013, Goodwin was helping his neighbor clear away some dry brush using his tractor when he found a chicken coop in the brush that had 22 honeycombs housing the 40,000 bees. While the bees were swarming the farmer, he managed to run to the neighbor's house where he used the hose to water himself down in an attempt to get the bees off of him. The neighbor's wife and daughter ran to his aid and they too were stung by the killer bees, each receiving about 100 stings each. [link to www.examiner.com] Who created these bees ??? When a bee stings something, it releases a pheromone which causes the other bees to go in attack mode and attack the same object which was originally stung. : / |

Sorry for the farmer, and that also means they're still around and spreading.. African bees they may also be the reason we're losing the Native american bees. Quoting: ceawaves Read they can also mate with the american bees an wipe them out/take over the hives..this was a while back ago. The colonists brought bees with them, there were no native bees here, wasps, yellow jackets, but not the bumble bee(european)! |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 11879514 United States 06/03/2013 11:53 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I read that this is the way to thwart a killer bee attack: Quoting: Anonymous Coward 11879514 Sit in the dirt and grab loose dirt with both hands and toss the dirt up in the air! Toss dirt over and over again! The killer bees can't stand this! The loose dirt annoys them! I read it in a magazine. This incident happened in Africa and the African boy that was throwing up the dirt was laughing at an American boy that jumped in water to avoid the killer bees! The article stated that the bees left the African boy alone. This dirt tossing knowledge might save your life someday! Wow! That makes a lot of sense thank you AC Thank you! My son was attacked by bees a couple years ago but he didn't know if they were regular bees or killer bees but he used the toss dirt method and he said it really works. Only thing is that he is real allergic to dust and he got a little sick with the dirt itself. But the method seems to work! Hope this saves lives. |

North America had native honeybees before the import of European bees. |

It's hard to believe there were never any bees here that produced honey.. [link to d.yimg.com] |
