Quoting: kpduties 24054525 You don't know what you are talking about. Death panels are fucking real! Just admit you fucked up. Sarah Palin coined the Death Panel term.....she warned you all.....and she was ridiculed and beaten down for it. Amusing how many are still in denial. :nhc: |

To use the simplest terms, part your immune system attaches 'tags' to things that need to be destroyed, then anything with the tag is targeted for destruction. Aside from the intended mechanism, the 'tags' can randomly get snagged on cells that should not be destroyed, and as a result that cell gets destroyed. Only this system can't differentiate between cancer cells and regular cells. Chemotherapy essentially floods your body with these tags, relying on the 'random snags' to gradually tag the cancer cells for your immune system to destroy them. Unfortunately this creates a lot of friendly fire, and healthy cells are targeted indiscriminately, causing systemic degradation. There is a newly discovered treatment that helps the immune system find the cancer cells, but that's probably a decade away from being a refined treatment. Until then, if you get cancer, and are generally healthy, Chemo is the most effective and least poisonous way to destroy it. |

Quoting: --Voltaic-- THIS is not freedom! This is socialism. aka-The Reds, commies, socialists..... Well I don't agree with your idea, it is real. [link to fellowshipofminds.wordpress.com] What, are you going to politely ask them to stop this madness?!?!? Are you gonna vote it out? LMFAO The US IS heading into socialism. Pretty soon you can be arrested for speaking out against the leader and voting will be something taught in history books. Personally, storming a white house isn't realistic. BUT taking some form of action is required, OR just sit back and let the commies roll in. |

We were at his Oncologist today and the Oncologist said that Obamacare has to go, because in the law if you are over 70 years of age, you can not have chemo treatments. I know several people who are over the age of 70 and they are living a full and wonderful life. Most people in my family live to almost 100. I don't get that...Unless it is true that they want to cut the population. Quoting: Deb1964 |

Just because it makes you feel the most ill doesn't mean it's the most *poisonous*. It stimulates your immune system to attack your body. That feels like crap, but once the attack is over, your body is left no more dirty than before you started the treatments. |

My Sister is a nurse, and she just told me that they are already eliminating a lot of common medical tests for the elderly as medicare will no longer pay for it. She was really upset because she works in a nursing home and she said this is going to make trying to care for the patients very difficult. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1900987 Its not just the elderly.Younger people that have lifelong health problems are being cut back in the amount of tests, doctor visits, etc that are covered.I was going every 3 months ,that has been cut back to every six months and I call in if I have unexpected problems. My doctor wanted me on a couple of name brand meds and it was paying for it but now it will only pay for the generics. The testing has been cut back too. |

Don't you have some homework do before mom calls you for dinner? |

LindaE User ID: 28582441 United States 06/04/2013 06:33 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | After 30 rounds of radiation and 4 rounds of chemo, all the biopsies have come back non malignant. Thank God!!!...Now for the surgery. They can not say he is cancer free yet though. Quoting: Deb1964 Had stage 3 colon cancer not quite 5 years ago. They debated doing the surgery after the other therapies, but decided that they weren't sure about a growth showing up on my ovary. Good thing they didn't wait around, since the thing on the ovary was a non cancerous tumor that was dying from being twisted on it's blood supply. That wouldn't have been good at all! Gangrene isn't healthy! Had the surgery (have a non reversable colostomy based on where the tumor was), did 37 radiations and 8 of the planned 10 chemos. Did OK with both, although near the end of radiation I needed to be near a bathroom to pee almost all the time. They stopped the chemo when my blood counts dropped too low. But I was still working through it (part-time). Wound up with some peripheral neuropathy from the chemo, but I'm alive, enjoying life and still working part-time. Of course my husband did most of the cooking, and I got fed a lot of comfort foods (we both needed them). Good luck to you and your hubby. It wasn't what I wanted to happen, but it's survivable. Keep a positive attitude! |

And is extremely poisonous to your entire body. It WILL kill you! |
