When my girls started dating...15-20 years ago, I told them they dare not date an African-American. I am not racist...my physician/surgeon and good friend from years past was African American. I adored him (he's deceased now), his sweet wife and family, but I think our cultures are so vastly different that a relationship other than a friendship does not work out.

Just last week I had an email conversation with a Muslim who wants desperately to have a serious relationship with one of my daughters. I told him the same thing...our cultures are too different. This guy is so kind...so sweet, but I would not approve of a marriage. My daughter feels the same. Besides, he and his family live in another country.

I agree. We all know black people that we could call a friend, but getting involved in a relationship is a whole other ball of wax.

The culture is way too different. And I tend to see alot more violent behavior to solve problems, instead of more rational means from that culture.
