Discovery Channel's new reality show, "Naked and Afraid". WTF
[link to finance.yahoo.com]

“Naked and Afraid” will feature two complete strangers, one man and one woman, for 21 days as they attempt to survive and navigate their way to a predetermined extraction point, one to 10 miles from their drop-off location. Each episode features a different couple in a different location and will premiere June 23.

As part of the show, the survivalists’ are allowed one personal item of their choosing.{I would take my wiener} They are also given a “rudimentary map” and Go Pro cameras, “which were rolling at all times,”

I am so Naked and Afraid now....WTF

Of course they will censor the boobs so it will not be worth watching. Who cares if they are naked and you can't see anything? Might as well be putting on pants and a bra.

If the show has uncensored nudity of females I would watch it. Otherwise it is just another stupid gimmick that promises more than it delivers.

It says it will be censored for broadcast. Even if it wasn't some people would watch it one time and forget it. The way they show everything 20 times it wouldn't even draw ratings like it would if it only aired once and you had to watch it or DVR. Now you know you are going to see shows repeatedly.

reminds me of this:

Re: Discovery Channel's new reality show, "Naked and Afraid". WTF
Against my better judgement, I've watched two episodes of this show and it's actually kind of interesting. The places they drop these people (naked, no water, no food and with only one survival object of their choosing) for the 21 days are pretty gnarly. It's like watching a cave man and woman.

What's also interesting is that, at least in the two episodes I've seen, the men get pretty badly injured at the start, leaving the women to do most of the survival work for both of them for a good portion of the time. And in both episodes, it has been the woman that has caught the animal food they needed to survive when both of them were attempting to hunt. Maybe it's just the men the show attracts or maybe women have a survival strength that I didn't think they would have. I just sort of assumed that the physical and mental intensity of it would have been something the men would deal with better, but that's not how it has been playing out. Don't mean to offend anyone out there - just observations (from a woman).

Sounds like real life. Men talk a good game but it's up to the women to have the real balls.

Re: Discovery Channel's new reality show, "Naked and Afraid". WTF
I don't know what you ladies are talking about, I have seen all the episodes even the ones where the males got injured. if the females would have got injured they would have quit. The males that got injured stayed in the show and continued. One of the guys had to have his foot drained from the thing that was sticking in it, and he was doing the majority of the work. It was only the that the woman contributed in a large part. One woman just kept the fire going until her partner got sick and she recovered a turtle to eat. But the man killed one of the deadliest snakes on the planet with just a stick. I'm a strong woman, and from another woman's point of view the Series shows how the man and woman need each other for survival. It was cool to see how they both worked in each situation to survive, even when one guy was acting like a baby (apparently from his abandonment issues) and the ladies were acting like princesses. It's a good show from this woman's point of view!

Adam and Eve must have been freaking out.

They would have had to watch and learn from their surroundings, learn from anything and everything, because uh....it does not sound like they got too much info before they were kicked out.

Re: Discovery Channel's new reality show, "Naked and Afraid". WTF
Dude this show is awesome. Its pretty funny how most episodes the guy tries to be mr macho and then ends up getting out survived by the women. Only one of the episodes (the one in the swamp) where the guy pretty much had to carry her on his back. But even then he wasn't mentally strong enough. Its cool though, shows that you have to work together in order to survive.
