What's wrong with capitalism? What would you take in its place?

Nothing is wrong with capitalism.

People abuse their power. When power is abused it gets taken away from them. Why do you think some Kings that could have done anything with anyone tried to make sure the were fairing well with the people?

When you live in a town with nothing but mom and pops then you have situations where when things get heated, they forget about all those liberals who gave them business, then they "fire" an employee because of their views. Yeah, they may have the right to do that but it's silly to think there wouldn't be retribution.

I've never been a vengeful person, but I don't go around ruining peoples lives because they have freedom to do something I don't like, it's stupid, other people are vengeful. Those with the most power, especially.

People gonna argue over left/right, lawful/non lawful, can't you see we are way past that as a country?

Many of the people fired those people because of the policies being implemented by the left were/are destroying their businesses, and that the people supporting those policies were not be considerate to their needs to make a living. I wouldn't say those Mom and Pop businesses were in power, I think it was more of a desperate move to get back at a faceless enemy that was destroying their way of life. It was a reaction from feeling powerless!

Secondly, Imagine a business or organization you built with you own hands, sweat, and tears. Have you ever worked an 80 hour work week so that you could build something or make a difference, and then have someone come in and tell you that they're owed a job and a piece of your wage because life isn't fair?

Would you not also want the employees you hired and pay to want to keep the business prosperous? If they belonged to a local gang that was running off all the paying customers would you want them still working there? If they were members of an organized crime racket that was forcing you to pay too much protection money(taxes etc) would you want them working there?

I don't blame them, but to be just, these people weren't up in arms when we went to war in Vietnam, Bosnia, Iraq, Libya, Pakistan, Yemen, Somalia, etc.

That's why I say, it's about fairness and the law. Both parties have things which they do that bend or break the law and justice, and we have to stop THAT from happening.

I think as a country you're right. We are way past that. There are too many open wounds, and not many people have a sense of right and wrong and justice anymore, and it's certainly not being taught in schools.

So, if there are lines being drawn as you say, then I suggest you side with a group that is fighting for the right things, and not a group that promises you vengeance, or you can walk the path of the enlightened mind, and become an INDIVIDUAL.

I'm definitely an individual.

Everything you say is correct except the moms and pops being powerless. The FELT powerless, they used their power to fire someone who may be a liberal because their mother had to use food stamps or something for a few years. (This isn't my story, just saying, MOST people aren't DIEHARD anythings but you wouldn't believe it reading this place.) Most people have things they believe in strongly pushed by both parties but some people can't fathom that.

I found it so tasteless when viewing this site when all the "fire liberals" was the meme, not because I didn't understand or blame them, it was because it was the exact wrong thing to do if you want to get this country back in shape.

If you indeed believe in KARMA, then you should think about the cause and effect reaction of a person giving up their responsibility of choice. The women on food stamps didn't have to be a liberal, and the church goer didn't need to be a republican. They made the choice to join those organizations, and any responsible person will learn about what they are supporting with their time, money, and vote. If they don't, and it comes around to bite them in the ass, I don't believe ignorance is a valid defense in that case. IF you drink a bottle of rum, you're going to get a hangover!

You reap what you sow.

Now, it will go back and forth. You're correct, in your statement against those who fired those folks, I agree that this little back and forth is pushing people farther apart and closer to violence.

That is the dangers of collectivism. Our country is undergoing a societal change, an identity crisis, a economic crisis, and a political crisis all at once.

If people stop attaching self-Identity to organizations, and begin viewing things from a stand point of right and wrong VS what's best for me, and take a step back and stop supporting bad causes and organizations I think that might be a tiny step in the right direction.
