Keep everything in perspective. Consider the source and what they have to gain/protect. Don't believe everything reported about this. Discrediting the enemy is the defense of the fearful.

what I don't understand is if he doesn't want to live in a society that "does things like that" then why did he move to China? Like they don't monitor the internet? He's probably just going to teach them how to do it better if he shares secrets, then where is he going to move? Makes no sense really.

I would consider the source of this story. They guy could be on a vacation to get out of the US while this is going on - and nothing more sinister than that. He wasn't under arrest, his passport had not been confiscated and he was not under a valid court order to prevent his leaving the US. He's free to travel where he will. And where he can afford to go.

The Chinese are NOT stupid. They would not open their doors and their wallets to this man under these circumstances. Napolitano is right - if the Chinese want him prosecuted he will be handed over to US authorities - and I think he's smart enough to know this.

Unless he has enough money to last the rest of his life or a new identity set up and ready to use, then he's not going to defect to some third world country. That would be insane.

I suspect that he's being discredited because he's out of the country - by choice and without any intention of defecting to anyone. He can beat any charges they may level at him. The press has long had the right to find info and publish it - even when it embarrassed the government. It's part of our checks and balances that keep the government in line and away (we pray) from absolute tyranny!!

Say a prayer for this kid and don't be so quick to believe negative press. When and if we hear it from him, then maybe we'll give it some credibility. As of now, it does not make sense!
