The boat had several large, fresh fish in it. The investment banker was impressed by the quality of the fish and asked the Mexican how long it took to catch them. The Mexican replied, “Only a little while.” The banker then asked why he didn’t stay out longer and catch more fish? The Mexican fisherman replied he had enough to support his family’s immediate needs. The American then asked “But what do you do with the rest of your time?” The Mexican fisherman replied, “I sleep late, fish a little, play with my children, take siesta with my wife, stroll into the village each evening where I sip wine and play guitar with my amigos: I have a full and busy life, senor.” The investment banker scoffed, “I am an Ivy League MBA, and I could help you. You could spend more time fishing and with the proceeds buy a bigger boat, and with the proceeds from the bigger boat you could buy several boats until eventually you would have a whole fleet of fishing boats. Instead of selling your catch to the middleman you could sell directly to the processor, eventually opening your own cannery. You could control the product, processing and distribution.” Then he added, “Of course, you would need to leave this small coastal fishing village and move to Mexico City where you would run your growing enterprise.” The Mexican fisherman asked, “But senor, how long will this all take?” To which the American replied, “15-20 years.” “But what then?” asked the Mexican. The American laughed and said, “That’s the best part. When the time is right you would announce an IPO and sell your company stock to the public and become very rich. You could make millions.” “Millions, senor? Then what?” To which the investment banker replied, “Then you would retire. You could move to a small coastal fishing village where you would sleep late, fish a little, play with your kids, take siesta with your wife, stroll to the village in the evenings where you could sip wine and play your guitar with your amigos.” |

I'd set up a fund to ensure my siblings' kids could attend Harvard, too, although I'd ask them to apply for scholarships or fellowships since that is what funded me throughout. I'd buy my husband the home of his dreams wherever he wished, and buy him anything he wanted, really. I'd get another dog, this time one that would love me the best, lol. I'd stop taking public transportation and buy a Vespa or a small fuel-efficient car. Sorry I am so lame, but that is probably about it. |

Have enough land for a farming area with field for growing crops that would be needed. Teach self reliance, how to sew, make cloth do all the time you need to do that doesn't need money. A lot more would have to be taught, but you get the idea. Independence is what I am talking about. Play time is the best time, you don't have to be rich to enjoy you self, good people and community working and playing together is good. A must would be a swimming hole. |

hope rising User ID: 12343174 United States 06/11/2013 12:10 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | If I didn't have to worry about money I would want to be a wealthy philantrapest. I would help as many cheerful, thankful people meet their goals as possible. I would never run out of money / wealth and I would always look good because I could eat good food, workout and have a little nip and tuck from time to time. I am not perfect, I admit to vanity or the mere fact I don't want to scare anyone. I would continue to have a loving and supportive family and plenty of positive people in my life with the same goals and desires to help others in need. I wish I knew how to accomplish this goal. Sadly I only can barely take of my own family daily living expenses. |

Quoting: strgzr what is it with homer? i only hear good things about this place. It's an absolutely beautiful place. Ocean on one side high mountains and glaciers on the other. A little clannish. Weather not bad for Alaska. Doesn't get too far bellow freezing in winter or stay that way long. Lots of wind. :) |

Yes, do work to help others and give secret money or gifts to unsuspecting people, like pay for their shopping, give food to beggars and invest in some poor kids to get them out of poverty so they can help themselves and others. Pretty boring shit really! What i wouldn't do is gove vaccines that are sterilising others and promote culling the world population. I would also probably get lots of degrees in law and human rights to defend people too. |
