"The disclosure of this information puts Americans at risk. It shows our adversaries what our capabilities are. And it's a giant violation of the law." Quoting: Doomer1981 When the leaders of this country possess the capability of operating outside of the law, it is up to law abiding citizens to bring this infraction to light. Americans pledge allegiance to justice for all, to be indivisible. Justice for all includes the IRS, executive and judicial branches as well as NSA. The Constitution applies to us all, and its up to us to insure that the folks running this nation come to grips with the fact that the constitution applies to them too. We can't take for granted the ramifications that the impact of the constitution possess in our lives. The power of our rights being undermined in such a cavalier manner as this ought to make every American pause and acknowledge the significance of the matter and act accordingly to insure the erosion of our rights ceases immediately before tis too late and our rights get flushed down the drain by an administration that appears to hold contempt for our rights and constitution. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 40528624 United States 06/11/2013 09:53 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | House Speaker John Boehner today called NSA leaker Edward Snowden a "traitor" who put Americans at risk by releasing classified information to the media. Quoting: Doomer1981 "He's a traitor," the highest ranking Republican in the House of Representatives said in an extensive interview with ABC News' George Stephanopoulos. "The disclosure of this information puts Americans at risk. It shows our adversaries what our capabilities are. And it's a giant violation of the law." Boehner endorsed President Obama's characterization of two programs, which allow the NSA to gather information about phone calls made in the U.S. as well as information on foreign suspects collected from major internet companies, as critical to the government's ability to fight terrorism. He said that there are "clear safeguards" built into the programs to protect Americans. [link to gma.yahoo.com] How come when they do illegal stuff they get off scott-free due to extenuating circumstances and the general population is guilty before trial? Many have asked this question and many times our government has answered by saying "Fuck you and die". Sometimes I think it'd be easier to be a moran. <sigh> |

[link to gma.yahoo.com] The hilarious thing is, when Bush was in power, the right in America overwhelmingly supported NSA snooping. Now that Obama is in power, they hate it. Hilarious. That's because Bush wasn't running an administration with Chicago type thuggery. Having the information and using it to silence anyone who disagrees with you is two different things. Bush was just as bad. They are all on the same team - and its not our team. :911wtc: |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1298661 United States 06/11/2013 10:07 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized. seems the government feels it has probable cause and supported that with an oath or affirmation and has described the place to be searched to include every computer or telephone owned by anyone. why have they done this? why are they smearing the leaker as a traitor? how have they kept this a secret for so long? why have they lied to the american people? Below is the exchange in the March hearing of the relevant Senate Intelligence Committee. Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Ore.—who has long warned about excessive government surveillance of Americans, though in veiled terms because the information is classified—had just one question for Clapper. Wyden: "And this is for you, Director Clapper, again on the surveillance front. And I hope we can do this in just a yes or no answer, because I know Sen. Feinstein wants to move on. "Last summer the NSA director was at a conference and he was asked a question about the NSA surveillance of Americans. He replied, and I quote here, '... the story that we have millions or hundreds of millions of dossiers on people is completely false.' "The reason I'm asking the question is, having served on the committee now for a dozen years, I don't really know what a dossier is in this context. So what I wanted to see is if you could give me a yes or no answer to the question: Does the NSA collect any type of data at all on millions or hundreds of millions of Americans?" Clapper: "No, sir." Wyden: "It does not." Clapper: "Not wittingly. There are cases where they could inadvertently perhaps collect, but not wittingly." |
