Shortage Of Workers In All Skilled Trade Positions In The US... Any Fresh Ideas On Finding Candidates???
I'm at a loss on finding skilled construction or manufacturing candidates. Everyone is going to college and there are no workers doing the "dirty jobs."

Other than Craigslist, Careerbuilder, Monster, LinkedIN and Facebook, I have no new ideas on finding people. Throwing this at GLP hoping some crazy fucker or meth head has some brilliant idea that the average sheeple cannot think of!

Go to your local tech school around graduation time and the school will probably be happy to allow u to interview. Been in the electrical trade 10 years and it sure is nice being in demand again.

That is a good idea, but that is more of a long-term idea. A green candidate is unfortunately nothing to me because I need someone with experience. I'd pretty much be interviewing them to see if they have a good personality and look presentable and then keep them in mind one year down the road in case they gained experience. Thanks though, not bad thinking.

Anything else?

Yeah, esp. since the Muslims plant to burn it all

Priceless ancient manuscripts put to the torch. Desperate residents paid to snitch on neighbours for violations of a puritanical strain of Islam. Whippings, beatings and amputations meted out to those who disobeyed.

Put an ad in the SouthEastern Wisconsin newspapers. These cities would be Milwaukee, Racine, and Kenosha. Also in the Fox Valley area like Oshkosh, Appleton, and Fond u Lac. There are some layoffs going on and lots of skilled tradesmen available to work. You may even be able to take on a few people wanting to transfer to a new skill.

I work with an ad agency that runs ads in 180 newspapers across Wisconsin M-F. I dropped $1200 to do this for 5 straight weeks and I received one call. I feel like newspaper ads are no longer effective. I dropped $400 on an ad for plumbers in Alabama and I had one call and the guy was fucking hookers in my hotel room and shitting all over the place and did terrible work! No good experiences with this...

Stop shipping our jobs to communist, slave labor, unfair trade counrties.

Wait.. too late. NAFTA and WallyWorld.

Devaluing currencies to keep prices artificially lower than you can make them at home.

I got I a fight with an Aunt that was saying there's so many high paying jobs for people with experience but everyone is lazy or wants tech. jobs. Companies that will only hire experience when none can be earned. All these people with worthless online degrees working at McDonald's or delivering pizzas. Get hired just long enough not to get benefits or a pay raise with the bonus of not being able to collect unemployment so you can't be counted in the fictitious unemployment number spin. Skilled workers are a thing of the past now because there's just not anyway to get your foot in the door.

Most skilled construction/ engineering personal have moved on to new professions or just simply died or became homeless!

After surviving the 07/08 collapse I would never put myself in a position to be laid off again! I found a new life and my own business , I am one of the very fortunate few!

It's only going to get worse until some heads pop out of some dark holes! I'm not holding my breathe!

I was in construction for 30 + years, I know lots of guys that have their knees, hips, backs FUBAR !
I have never had Medical or Dental coverage.
I have busted my ass for decades, just to pay the bills.
I was offered a job in Vegas running a crew, if I could speak Spanish, Mi no hable mucho Espaniol.
Immigrants were trucked in and We American guys were replaced by guys from Mexico who would do the job for half the price.
I have got no problem with the Mexican guy's, many of them do fine work and they bust their asses.
They do very good sheetrock and plastering,in particular.
They save their money and sleep 5 or 10 to an apartment in a hood where nobody asks too many questions.
This is not a line of B.S. I'm intimately familiar with the construction biz and it's realities.
They save their money and go back to Mexico and buy a little Ranchero and live the good life.
In the USA, the Mexicans also run Dope (Pot,Meth,Heroin.) and use Mexican restaurants to Launder the $$$ and make more $$$. They are smart,in a crazy kind of way, smart like a fox.
It is no big secret.
If I was a guy in Mexico, I would move to El Norte and start working, save up my cash and go home and buy a ranch.
Good luck to them,to be honest.
But that leaves your average Black or White American in a FUBAR scene.
My point is, Skilled guys could once make a living by learning and maintaining their skills,They could support a family and buy a house. Not any more.
If you can get in a Nepotistic union and live of the Federal teet, you can make some bank, but you are basically 'robbing your neighbors, via taxation for Prevailing no-where but the government wages.
So your paycheck is welfare, not free market.
Skilled workers are Tax Targets. The game is rigged against them now, that is why you can not find them, they are done, finished, finito.

Get the country to join europe, open the boarders and let the eastern europeans take all your jobs, it works for companies, not so good for the uneployment figures though.

Or may be start an aprentiship scheme in your company, then you can educate young people interested in doing the type of work you do.
