I heard that 20% of the human genome was already patented by major corporations. I was blown away by even the idea of it! Man has been on this planet for untold thousands of years and now corporations where going to take credit for having "invented" us?! That aside, do you know what this means? If no one can patent the human genome then no one can own the human genome. And if no one can own the human genome, no one can own a human being. So therefore ANY and ALL forms of slavery INCLUDING temporary incarceration of a human being MUST be illegal! (The same could be said of all insects, plants and animals). Furthermore, if any human being claims to be able to do these things by "divine authority" such as the Bible, the burden of proof belongs to them. They must prove that man has this authority over ANY created being making use of genetic material; mineral, insect, planet, animal or man. This alone might potentially either re-validate the notion of "God" and man's inherent realtionship to Him, his use of the planet and his divinely given rights to life deemed "inferior" to him, OR if God does not exist as many atheist claim, and the human genome cannot be patented as the Supreme Court has ruled, Then our entire ASSUMPTION as to what man can do with said beings who contain human genetics must be re-evaluated. For those who have been incarcerated for having violated the rule of law, or those who have had their genetics involutarily taken from them, if no one who is "Human" who contains genetic material is any different from those who have been so accused, they cannot do what they wilt with said "property" without the consent of it's owner! Since there is no "God" representative as owner of said creature (and they have already taken out the Ten Commandments from public places) what gives anyone the right to do as they please whether governmentally constitutional or not, with ANY living creature? This country was founded upon Laws which were founded in morals which were founded in the belief in a God. But it has become an insane assylum and a DNA saughter house instead. If there is no God then it is every man for himself and chaos rules. If there is a God, by what structure of delegation of authority besides predatory opportunism does He dole out the right of one human being to subjugate another. What i am saying is simple, "WE the People" are functioning under an aweful lot of contradictory assumptions. And if you play the numbers game, that is "he who has the gold makes the rules", by what base ediface does man portend to determine his brother's worth especially in a 24/7 totalitarian surveillance state?? (and that's my rant for the day).
