WTF?! Air Force missile site south of Lubbock, TX! (updated links)

Doesn't quite make it. It's 63 miles from Fluvanna to Lubbock.

I dunno, Charlie. It's not close to the border. It's actually about 3-400 miles to El Paso, maybe a little more. It's even farther to other border points.

Ok, based on the responses, I am going to the site and taking additional pictures with my slr. I am seriously concerned with the fact that there are anti-aircraft missiles pointed strait at my hometown with absolutely NO info from my local, state or national government. Can't say I'm really surprised.....

Hey Informed1. Ron Roberts just said during the weather report that the weather cam at Lake Alan Henry was taken out during the storm. It probably was, but it's awfully convenient. Hhhmmmm.....

Wow. One of my boys went to Tech. Glad he's back in town but concerned for you guys out there. Wtf?

Remember a couple of years ago, I think it was the Lubbock sheriff at a town meeting or something like that, and was saying they didn't like the encroaching fed gov? This was a few months after NDAA and he was not liking it. I remember feeling a little relieved that he was speaking out and my boy was out there.

I know, this was a while back, but it makes you wonder with all of the military exercises they're gonna be doing south of here this summer.

Just curious if there is any update on this. What with Jade Helm going on, this story and pics has surfaced on Facebook in a state III% page, and folks are buggin smooth out.

*IF* this is actually near Lake Henry Allen, it's no where near Lubbock. It's near Synder Texas, home of the no.2 most earth quakes in Texas.

However, it's more likely part of Dyess AFB since Dyess is on 84. Seems like somebody had no clue where they were.

We get our water form Lake Henry Allen, Lubbock Texan.

It's actually about a mile west of hwy 84 on FM 1269 towards Fluvana. Yes, it is closer to Snyder, but 99% of the people on this forum wouldn't have a clue where Snyder was, but would know of Lubbock. Lubbock is also the closest large city in the area.

Also, I agree that it is a part of Dyess AFB. However, Dyess is farther south and east towards Abilene, and not close to the missile site. I only posted this because I found it odd and had never seen a site like this so out in the open before.

Lake Henry Allen is about 15 miles south of Post Texas.I live in Lubbock, I know this area well.

as a military vet this thread is how the bad guys(china and russia) get some cheap intel. you are telling them what and where we have anti aircraft batteries you idiot! keep track of them if you want and publish shit with some time passed. we dont need our enemies to have intel like that!!

The thing is on Google Maps. I didn't give any intel away, our own government did! And yes, Google is our government. Just look how many secret meetings O'Gotcha has had with high-ranking Google execs. He takes them more seriously than he does his own security briefings.

Looks like a training site to me. NOBODY leaves hot guided missiles or unguided rockets unmanned. Reminds me of a communications site similar to those I worked on while in the US Army. We had a comm. site like this in the desert near Douglas, AZ when I was assigned to the 11th Signal Brigade at Ft. Huachuca (now hq'd at Ft. Hood). It was to provide more realistic training. The double fence is also typical, although the one around our camp in KSA during Desert Shield/Storm was of standard double cyclone, about 6' apart, filled with multiple coils of concertina wire. Also - in the Google Maps satellite image, 2 tall wooden poles of the type typically used for an HF transmitter installation (end fed?). You usually use the HF to talk to the distant end while setting up the satcom link.

Looks like "missile battery" is outside of perimeter fence.

Wrong shape. San-6 gainful. Russian. Dave hodges of common senseshow believes they are hawk missile batteries, but the hawk missile do not stack perfectly horizontally from left to right. San-6 does.
