Glen Beck: snake in the grass? Wolf in sheeps clothing?

I sometimes listen to glen beck and sometimes agree with what he says. But then there are times when I scream at the radio.
I have a sneaking suspicion that he is on the payroll of the establishment, and that his job is to act as somewhat of a wrangler of the far right fringe.
So lets say that you, as a citizen, are so fucking fed up with "X" that all you want is somebody's head on a stick. Or that you know for a fact that the ___________ was staged and serves only to further the agenda of the regime. I hear glen beck all the time getting on a rant, getting the attention of the listeners, promising to show his hand and reveal some big scandal, but then reeling in the sheep.
He constantly reels in the sheep to prevent them from going too far, or from digging too deep.

The most annoying thing about him is that he calls himself a fucking Libertarian. How was he so opposed to Ron Paul during the presidential run, saying that he was nuts, and that his ideas were crazy, but now that Ron Paul is no longer a threat to the establishment, beck is a libertarian? And he will still say that Ron Paul was a lunatic. But he praises rand Paul. Which really makes me suspicious of rand.
I feel like the libertarian thing is just another example of reeling in the masses. "Fancy yourself a libertarian? Well me too. So listen to me, follow my ideals, and go only this far." But in the end, just remember how he bashed libertarianism, and how he will never ever go outside the circle of the established right wing conservative. Because he doesn't want his followers to stray. He isn't paid to do that. He's paid to rally people back to where the government wants them.
