Protesters on Friday promised more organized action across Brazil in the days to come, following clashes in which police in Sao Paulo set upon thousands of young demonstrators angered by hikes in bus and subway fares.

Breathing through vinegar-soaked rags is an effective counter-measure to tear gas.

Social movements launched protests here Friday as Brazil readied for the start of the Confederations Cup soccer tournament.

The mobilization in Brasilia was meant to highlight the amount of public money spent on the competition and the evictions of mainly low-income people the six cities that are hosting matches.

Dozens of demonstrations are also being organized in other cities, including Paris, Madrid, London, Berlin, Brussels, Boston, Chicago, New York, Toronto, Montreal, Mexico City and Buenos Aires. In general, the actions are scheduled for Tuesday. Many of the demonstrations called by the social network are linked to the event called Democracy Has No Border.

Thousands have already signed up to attend.

The storm troopers's biggest mistake: attacking The Press Community. The enraged midia can destroy them from the inside out.

Is this turmoil world-wide what we'd call The Hundredth Monkey Effect?!

Wow there are angry cops everywhere I guess, or are they military? There is no reason, with the billions that the Olympics and Fifa World Cup bring in, that public money should be used on either event IMO. I'm happy the US lost both bids to Brazil.

Also, I hope that beautiful woman doesn't lose an eye and no one else gets hurt.

You can join, I got this from facebook - protest in Germany

Vinegar neutralizes the effects of teargas. Once exposed to teargas, all you have to do is pour vinegar into a cloth and breath through the cloth. Instant cure.
