When my kid has his TV time he's usually content to watch his few favorite shows and I not having watched television in over 4 years (we don't have cable and use netflix for the kids). Seeing as how he's 4 it's for the most part ambient noise in the background while I work on the computer. This time I actually sat down and watched an episode of Phineus and Ferb with him. The themes presented in this garbage blew my mind. The main bad guy is divorced from his wife who in the most cavalier way possible says "we just wanted different things". Not to mention his absolute desire towards and reference to all manner of "evil". Count on fucking Disney to implant at an early age that the family unit is disposable and non-vital to building and upholding a well functioning and moral society. That evil is fun and naughty. And I thought it was bad watching a cat get his ass beat by a mouse... or a coyote get thwarted by a roadrunner was bad as I was a kid his age. Jesus.

I suppose this boy band was all white and gay and then insert the straight negro. Media manipulation at its finest.

They add so much retarded shit and family drama to kid shows nowadays it beyond me. 20 years ago when i was a kid our shows were still somewhat innocent and carried a good message for each episode. Now it's all garbage.

Sad thing is kids are so conditioned to this shit these days that you try to put on some old looney tunes for them (which is plenty rife with racism and violence) and for them you might as well put them in a dark basement with no food or water.

I was watching Arthur today with my babies. The girl in the show had the all seeing eye in the pyramid above her bed. Clear as day! I was shocked. It was funny bc I sat down telling myself to look for symbols in the children's show and five minutes into watching, this is what I found.

So if I read that correctly, you're saying it's bad because the bad guy likes evil things.

....That's why it's the bad guy.

You SHOULD be focusing on how damn selfish everyone is in the show, though.

As for the divorce thing, if it makes you feel better, Sesame Street is talking about how parents go to jail for breaking a law.

New age cartoons/kids shows do suck though. I miss the 90s Nick.

I honestly try to get out and do as much "outside" stuff with them as I can... But cool places like "discovery zone" and ball pits are a thing of the past. Playgrounds today are sterile feeling and don't seem to have the kid energy they did when I was young. Now it's a few mexicans playing while their gotty looking mom sits on an iphone texting somebody.

Kids have a brain like a sponge. They absorb everything they hear and see which subconsciously affects them. Most parents know this and i'm not even a parent and i know this.

I'm saying that unless you want to deprive a child of any means of what is sold as casual entertainment today, you are left with a hard bargain. I might as well have been Amish with that mindset. I hear a good barn raising makes for good children... and churning butter really builds their forearms (and character!)

Jesus.

Still not getting why the bad guy being the master of ....terrible....evil...ehh things, is a big deal.

Also I watched shows like Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy (which was LOAAADED with illuminati symbolism) and I didn't grow up to worship the all seeing eye. I don't see how just putting it there in the background is anything to worry about. Just a marker for the kind of people in charge of the story/morals.

Never even thought seriously about the symbolism until I worked for a company of freemasons who helped wake me up.

Why not just turn it off, or, since you said you don't use it except for netflix - get rid of the cable...

And give the kids blocks or something to use with his hands, or read to him.

That will take care of the issue.

To subconsciously absorb things does not mean they are dumb. At a young age kids don't pick up on the things we see in tv shows but they subconsciously absorb it.
