Re: Need help identifying UFO Picture taken at my work!
I am excited to report that I think I have an asnwer to this anamoly.

I am at my work and asked my friend to show me exactly where the pic was taken.

Having seen this I can totally say it is a lens flare. Will get pictures to post of the location shortly.

Hi GLP,

Was hoping to throw this out there and get some comments.

My best friend and co-worker took this picture at my work during the bad storms we had on the East Coast on Thursday.

She immediately sent it to me via Facebook and all of our friends are talking about it. She also posted it to a weather site and it is being shared by many people.

Details - Pic taken New Castle, DE. Approximatley 9:30am on Thursday morning. She took it with her android phone. Facing SE.

That is an Amazing capture! Definitely looks genuine.

Strangely it also reminds me of the ufo depicted on the concept poster for the movie character i am portraying. That is most startling of all!

The other thing too -
I sent it in to MUFON, just to see what would happen.

I have never dealt with them other than perodically popping on the UFO Stalker to see sightings in my region.

They posted it on the site and I have now been emailed twice by the regional director and the local field investigator (if these are even real jobs).

Field person wants us to contact them via phone to discuss more details. This is so weirdly ridiculous.

It is Photoshop.

You can see the square corners of the "paste" if you play with the contrast.

It is not photoshop. She doesn't even have photoshop.

Only one person at my job has photshop on their computer and they are way to busy to screw around making UFO pics.

But I'll listen if you give me more info.

Maybe the big joke is on me? Who knows. Anything is possible.

I suspect it is. Much as I would love to see a genuine, undebunkable (is that even a word?!?)UFO picture I'm afraid this isn't it. Zoom right in on the six lights and you'll see our friend is quite right. There is a very noticeable rectangle around them. They have almost certainly been pasted into the image.

I'm telling you it is not shopped.

I am actually leaning more towards lens flare at this point.
 Quoting: Harlot

That was actually my first instinct because the angles seemed natural to be lens flare. You have to admit that rectangle's suspicious though. I guess it's a bit previous to suggest that necessarily means it was a cut and paste job though as any filter applied to that rectangular area would leave a definite edge. You say the photo was taken on an android phone is it possible that your friend, having had the lights pointed out to her, has highlighted the area and enhanced it before posting it to Facebook?

I haven't had a chance to read the more recent replies because I wanted to post these updated pics as promised.

OK - it is totally a lens flare caused by the pole in the picture!

Until I got to work today, I couldn't quite tell where my friend had taken the picture.

I thought it was taken next to our Bar and Shield sign seen at this link -

But the "black line" or pole in the picture is a different lamp post thingy with SIX lights in a circular pattern.

I am so glad I posted this on here to get more input.

I will be even more inquisitive of these types of pix going forward.

That original picture totally blew me away. I knew it wasn't photoshopped which made it more believable to me.

Whether it had been a terrestrial craft or otherwise.alien7

I suspect that the light shown on the pole has 6 individual lights sitting attached to a ring that can be lowered to accomidate the replacement of bulbs. The "craft" is most likely a flare of that light. Maybe not though, thanks for posting.

You'd suspect right! Thanks for replying.

This whole thing just shocked me at first because it was at my job (which is too close for comfort) and unlike what others were saying, I knew there wasn't any photo manipulation.

I feel like I learn something new here daily.

I know right! A UFO in the shape of a Harley-Davidson bar and shield. Then I'd think I was just drunk and overworked.

I can't deny a part of me wasn't let down when there was a LOGICAL answer to it all. LOL
