ROTFLMAO! $50.00 for a movie ticket? The money, in my camp, is not the issue. Paying money in any amount for useless, mind, numbing, crap now...That's the issue. Not just "No", but "Hell No!" I'll save it for a half of tank of gas. LOL!

for 50 bucks, i want at least a happy ending AND i don't mean the movie.

you know that won't happen as you've already said you'll pay 50 bucks to see Hunger Games 2. that would make you part of the problem by agreeing to pay stupid prices. kids...

Ive only been to the movie theater once in the past 5 years. Tickets are 12 dollars a person, A small popcorn is another 6 dollars and a drink another 6. The theater is full of low lives and people who got there tickets from a wellfare check. I refuse to go to the theaters any longer. Better just to wait for it on Netflix or another site and watch it for free and in the comfort of my own home without screaming nags everywhere

hehe...was once booted out of a theater when the 240z beer can slid outta my hand then spewed a small geyser straight up and on top of 3 people in front of us and us. it then proceeded to roll down under a few seats leakin stinky Schlitz Malt Liquor on the way. good times...

With the technology available today, independents will have more opportunity. Nobodies will become somebodies once the Hollywood monolith gives up its breathe and distribution control. Hollywood isn't the only portal for film production, other countries as well have wonderful talent, its just difficult to see these production because of Hollywood media control.

Funny, I as just commenting the other day how people have started going to more movies, partly because they have made theatres more comfortable.

Not a chance in hell will I or anyone I know pay even 20.00 to go to a movie! Sad enough I already have to pay to see a movie and still have to watch commercials! I remember when you went to the movies (usually a double bill) and before the movie you watched previews and a free cartoon or featurette - now it's damn commercials.

I think they make their profits by volume and if they put those kinds of fees on it the volume will disappear.

Some of you seem to think you can "watch on youtube" or "buy the dvd". They aren't going to let us off that easy. In case you haven't noticed, YouTube hardly has ANY movies on, and they have split releases between Netflix, Amazon, Redbox, etc. so you would almost have to subscribe to all of them if you want full access. DVDs, BluRay whatever is probably going to go up as well.

After really thinking about it...haven't they been putting out shit movies for the last few years anyway? What strikes me as odd is that they release garbage films, like for instance remaking the same film repeatedly, then they spout their views all over the place until the average viewer is sick to death of it. Now they expect to get $50+ per ticket? I think they either have an over inflated self image, or they are self-destructing? Consider all the TEOTW type movies they have been making, the selling off of their homes at below value, Lucas selling Star Wars, or even the Shia LeBeouf interview where he talked about the NSA phone monitoring. I even find it weird how Mel Gibson shut up and fell in line, so to speak. The CIA is thick in Hollywood. There maybe more going on than meets the eye. Of course, I rarely take things at face value....

No I wouldn't, I don't even go to the movies and pay $10. I wait till I can rent them on TV. But I haven't even rented any for a year now, haven't see any that interests me.

I am not interested in Zombies and the ET movies all make them out to be evil, out to kill us. I do not believe this. One good movie was Starman and The day the Earth stood Still ( the old one)these were greet movies.

You want to continue funding Jamie Foxx and Jim Carrey be my guest. I'll never spend a dime on their movies again, I don't care how much entertainment value you think they are going to give you for 50.00.

There are some actors left I'll spend money on, but that list is far shorter then those I won't go see.

As a Scene member, I get free movies all the time. Fellow Canadians know what I'm talking about.
