I was in the same exact predicament as you, hug less, loveless virgin, except for the fact that I didn't wait till I was 32 to do something about my situation. I'm also 32 at the moment and just like you I spent most of my life hiding from reality because of my inferiority complex. I too find it difficult to take part in this charade we call life but the fact remains that until things change you're stuck having to participate even if it's just for the sake of participating. My wake up call came when I found out I had gout among other things. It dawned on me that even though I can't find a purpose in life at the very least I can devote all my time and energy to self improvement. It was the best decision I ever made. I cleaned myself up, lost 75 pounds and figured out a way to get rid of the gout without ever taking a single pill. I get so much attention now from the opposite sex that I don't know what to do with it and I'm not even exaggerating. No one will ever love you until you love yourself, it's cheesy but it's true. Find your own wake up call and then the sky's the limit.
