Palin was not what the LEFTY MSM painted her as. ....but nonetheless...the sheep fell for it anyway.

Quoting: Useless Cookie Eater I agree completely that Palin is far different than she was portrayed to be. That doesn't change my opinion of her as a potential political candidate in '08. She wasn't ready. But in a crowd of incompetents (McCain, Biden, Obama) she shined. Quoting: TheOriginalMind In 08' she wasn't ready for a Presidency....but she would have been fine as VP. Don't think so?.....just look at Biden....and rethink that. ...and YES....McLame held her back....not the other way around. Quoting: Useless Cookie Eater No, I don't even think she was ready for VP, for two reasons. First, whoever is VP should be capable of being President if necessary. Since she wasn't ready for the Presidency, she wasn't ready to be VP. In fact, the desirability of having a potential President as VP goes back to the Founding: originally, the VP was whoever came second in the electoral college, rather than whoever the President-elect chose to be his running mate. Second, Palin had no experience of Washington. The sad fact is that the VP needs to be a master of Washington, because they deal so much with Congress and cover the President's ass when necessary. She had no support structure (on a personal/networking level, not on a party level). Further, she wasn't a favorite of the Republican establishment, so would have been weak in trying to face off the Democrats. So politically she was a bad choice at the time. Quoting: TheOriginalMind In both highlighted points....I could easily say much the same about Biden and Obama. You need a better argument than that.
