In REAL science and physics you use formulas that accurately describe reality. There is nothing "simple" about the formulas in my moon and sun calculation spreadsheet, but it accurately describes reality. I could have made it much simpler, but only at the expense of accuracy. Newtonian equations for velocity do not accurately describe relativistic velocities close to the speed of light. Not even close.
