Meh.

So am I understanding this right? In IDWtronics, magnetism only exists in a piece of iron? If you build an air-core transformer or electromagnet or a big 'ol MRI machine, it only makes "fakematism" until you slip a piece of iron inside?

Fakematism being something that allows transformers and inductors to work but isn't actually magnetism, because that would be against IDWtronics for some reason.

Or is this just a poorly though-out waffle to allow air core transformers to work and explain what is actually happening inside an MRI (aka, it works by fakematism, but if you attempt to measure the field you do so by sticking an iron probe into it -- or drop a pin -- and then and only then real magnetism occurs)?

IDW keeps adding conditionals and exceptions and levels of subtlety and from here it looks like not even he knows what his theory actually predicts.



And why is it so important that only iron be ferromagnetic? Is this important to IDWtronics, or is this just a case of not wanting to admit when he's wrong?
