Sex offenders not only are safe embedded in the congregations, but the GB doctrine protects their identity from the rest of the members.

What I don't get is that the JWs (incorrectly) believe only 144,000 go to heaven. Just with the 7 billion people breathing on the planet right now that would be a nearly unatainable goal to be a part of such a small group. Add in the billions upon billions for recorded history and i've got to wonder why these people keep knocking on my door to hand me a flyer.

there are a couple of members here at GLP (who post about evolution constantly) that are JW's.

maybe they could come in and explain/defend.

if they are found out to be a pedo, you are not allowed to talk about it to other members or risk being disfellowshipped.

yes, a safe haven. You could have your child sitting right next to one in the car going door to door with, and you would not even know.

I honestly don't know a whole lot about JW.

All I know is they are strict, and they usually seem really nice.

I thought mormons were strict with their beliefs, but JW are even more so.

so are agencies like the FBI doing anything about this?

If I understand it right, it's borderline brainwashing too. They isolate and deprive fresh victi... "converts" of all contact with family and former friends while they are being indoctrinated.

My wife had a family member that was very nearly snatched up by them. It was very difficult just to get to talk to him for a while. Lots of wrestling with them and him and a lot of prayer later, he came around and cut the JWs loose. I don't know what their initial lure was or why he couldn't see the disception, but it was like he was getting sucked into a black hole.

They can't help it. They are brainwashed, mind controlled puppets who are more afraid of thinking than any group of people I've ever known.

I feel very sad for them because their love for God has been used against them. They are trapped within a cult whose only purpose is to collect money. Once they are in, getting out costs them their families and friends who are still in. The objective is to shun those who disbelieve the power and authority of the GB in the hopes it will bring them back. ???

The WTB$ is a publishing House masquerading as God's only channel on Earth.

They are counting time (a required activity) by preaching online. Each baptized witness is required to turn in time spent spreading the "good news" every month. Those who don't turn in time, get visits from their loving brothers.

I was raised in the JW's.

Due to my hellish experiences as a child in this organization I am firmly of the opinion that anyone who teaches religion to children should be killed.

Do not force your false god on kids. It is abuse.
I wish I could sue the JW's for what they put me through.
