Anonymous Coward User ID: 39425159 United States 06/17/2013 07:01 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | First try downloading malwarebytes - install it. Reboot your computer and hold f8 while it boots to get into safe mode. Run malwarebytes in safe mode and see if it comes up with anything. If you get nothing then your system is probably hosed. Go ahead and reformat at that point. |

Most people don't want to get 'down and dirty' so I just gave the simplest options, use MBAM to see if that'll sniff out the malware and if it don't work, just reformat :-P |

Free utilities (install and run in order) *run updates for each utility before scan* - combo fix (Stops running processes that detect anti-malware) - malwarebytes (scans for malware) - spy bot search and destroy ( I think you have a form of spyware I have seen it and this fixed it) - AVG free AV / AVAST / Microsoft security essentials or what ever AV you may have. Run a boot time verbose scan if possible - cleanUP its a small utility it deletes temporary browsing data app data etc. will not delete documents pics music stuff like that, it WILL delete browsing history, forum fill data (including saved user names passwords, GLP for instance won't auto sign on ) and it will empty recycle bin contents |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 41852091 That's the weirdest thing I've ever heard in many years of doing computer repair. Seriously, if that's true, you definitely have to update us as to what it's about. It almost sounds like your laptop is picking up outside interference, but again, I've never heard of such a thing before! |

Which may mean the antivirus won't necessarily stop it. Are you in a big metro area, lots of towers, etc? |

Well, that's what I would assume too. Google searching is telling me differently lol. Like I said, this is a new one to me. I'd love to have it happen to me so I can verify it because it doesn't really make any sense! |
Taz User ID: 39494685 United States 06/17/2013 07:24 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It's some damn browser extension aimed at advertising. Like click cash or one of those stupid things. Sends all your nslookups through a spoofed proxy DNS and targets you with pop ups and sometimes audio adds. Fucking little 13 yr old twinky fed brilliant computer needs paid to write nasty crap by big online add companies. Fricken makes me infuriated. I eapeacially love the ones that mascarade exactly as windows security center. I'm an IT Pro and have to look twice now at running processes before I trust something on the screen |
