Protestors SET FIRE TO LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY in Rio de Janeiro BraziL.UPDATE--POLICE FIRING AT PROTESTORS WITH ASSAULT RIFLES Errr... Have no idea. Actually there's almost no opposition here anymore. I expected PSDB (party of the brazilian social democracy) to do this job, but they are terrible in this. The most prominent names of this party are Aécio Neves, Geraldo Alckmin, José Serra and the ex-president Fernando Henrique Cardoso. Our actual government, the Worker's party (PT) is governing without any kind of opposition for more than a decade. Thank you. What is this peoples position on favelas problem? historically, no president/state governor gave enough attention to the favelas problem, that's why this problem achieved this magnitude. Surely, some politicians give more attention to the favelas, but usually as a way to get votes during the elections. There are some urbanization projects here and there, a welfare program called "bolsa família" that helps a bit. But theres nothing really effective to combat this problem. Nowadays, favelas are a cultural element of the brazilian society. OMG. Fernando Cordoso is a member of The Club of Madrid, with Michail Gorbachev(sic!) and Marti Ahtisaari. This is big NWO organisation. Why I am asking about favelas, if favela mobs will decide to go fight police, with homemade semiautos, all the stuff, there will be UN troops in Brazil. |

Nowadays, favelas are a cultural element of the brazilian society. Just to complete my last post: During the elections, every candidate is sensible to this problem, they promisse to do everything to get rid of favelas by increasing the income of the people, by investing in education, healthcare, safety and bla bla bla that never happens. So all i can say is that every politician in this country is sensible to this problem (otherwise they won't get votes), but when they get in power, they do nothing or very little to change this. As always. This black money, drugs, guns, prostitution is a sweet pie for every politician. Anyways, side issue, until it comes Civil War. |

And where are the hotshot politicians and their families? Behind ARMED bodyguards, of course. Brazilians are awesome. One time a commuter train was badly delayed, and commuters got so pissed off, they torched the train. I wanna see what happens when here in the U.S. or Europe if a plane or train is badly delayed for some bullshit reason, and people get so pissed, they riot and burn it to the ground. Those at the top of the food chain [politicans and corporate CEOs] understand only one these things: Raw power Violence Money |

Protestors SET FIRE TO LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY in Rio de Janeiro BraziL.UPDATE--POLICE FIRING AT PROTESTORS WITH ASSAULT RIFLES Damn. I much prefer my own memories of going to Carivale' in Rio when I was 24 and remember that first night, literally coming out of the hotel in full costume for the first time. I was walking less tan two blocks and wound up in an alley having sex with two women I never saw before or after that night. And the evening got wilder from there. I went back up to the hotel to wash up and came down again and the streets were so packed that it was hard to get onto the sidewalk ... Half the people were nude and the other half were nearly so. The danced and talked and drank and the sex was rampant. It looked like a scene out of a roman orgy but it went on for blocks around us. The people were gorgeous. They all looked amazing, as did their costumes. I saw things that night that I will never forget, and a few things I wish I had not seen of course. It was a night to remember. That's how I remember Rio. The only thing being shot was some guys load. Not Guns and bullets! Frankly, I'm glad I have my memories of Rio at Carnival the way it used to be before AIDS and other STD's. And before they decided that politics were more important than Carnival, etc. |

Protestors SET FIRE TO LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY in Rio de Janeiro BraziL.UPDATE--POLICE FIRING AT PROTESTORS WITH ASSAULT RIFLES It's a damn operation by CIA and Mossad It's just CIA and Mossad trying to start another "hashtag revolution" (their new fad) Their ultimate goal is to generate enough chaos to justify a right wing military coup It's like they did in Chile in 1974, when Salvador Allende was the president democratically elected by the people, and CIA funded strikes and violent protests, to generate chaos in Chile, so the "anarchy" could be used as a pretext for a military coup by Augusto Pinochet. They are using exactly the same tactic in Brazil now. But now, the tactic was "updated" with the use of social media and hashtags, just like Mossad has done in Libya and Syria... They even used a Johnnie Walker ad ("It's time for the next step") as a "code word" for this operation, with direct participation of British multinational company Diageo... Unfortunately, many young Brazilians are brainless enough to be manipulated by the CIA and Mossad, even when the country is experiencing RECORD LOW unemployment, and unprecedented WEALTH for the people. |

If you're going to protest out on the streets, the chances are that you are going to get hurt. Besides, public protesting is not a way to effect change. It just gets you labelled as a malcontent. Furthermore, even if you do not personally engage in looting or rioting, some people will, and you will be seen as one of them. Quoting: arkadiy There is a huge black market for drugs in the favelas with many of the police receiving bribes from the traficantes to allow them to operate. I know one girl who pays R$5000 (US$2500) amonth to be allowed to sell cocaine and that is in a very small favela with no drug lords. |
