I have no reason to not believe that terror attacks have been covertly intercepted. Have always assumed this as remarkably few have happened post 9/11, its not for lack of enemies who would try.

The issue here is the need for trustworthy oversight. The NSA is doing the job it was given. But what congress, Bush and Obama have neglected is transparently independent over sight. The original intent of 1970s FISA was to prevent misuse of intelligence by the likes of J. Edgar Hoover.

Protecting liberty is two pronged. Our government must protect us from foreign threats, but at the same time congress and the president must resist attempts to turn this country into a police state. They've completely fallen down on this job and it needs to change.

Hopefully we don't over react to these leaks and shutdown important operations. Radical Islam is real and they do want us dead. Never forget that.

actually, if they have been spying on their own people then it would be very safe to assume that they have been intimately aware of so many hundreds of thousands of crimes before they actually became crimes.

Therefore, if they didnt act with all that knowledge, wouldnt they be guilty of "aiding and abbeting' all those crimes, when they could have prevented all of them?

Theyd have all the evidence that theyd need to prevent AND convict before any crime was committed.

The NSA can say the STOPPED A COW FROM JUMPING OVER THE MOON, that doesn't prove anything.

More than 50 potential terror events, which would imply more than 50 suspects?

Can they even show one of these in custody?

It is questionable if they really want to stop terrorist attacks at all.

Recently, a couple of NSA guys were rehashing their involvement in "The Dark Knight Rises" movie theatre shooting last summer and one of the bright guys said,

"Hey, I couln't see too clearly because I was holding that exit door open for you, but didn't that 'Bane' guy in the movie take over the stock exchange?"

"Oh, yeah. You're right. Hard for me to see because of that fucking red wig, but you're right.

"Let's tell the boss and maybe they can say we stopped a bombing at the exchange to get some heat off our ass."

I might be wrong FRED, but perhaps these people are just offended by a foreign state interferring in what is not their business meddling in, and in their sovereign lands, and apart from that another consideration is that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction, both in physics AND human behavoir.

Might be worth trying to have some independant and unbiased thoughts on some of these matters before you preach poorly conceived opinions based pretty much on a very biased diet of locally grown spin suffering severely from tunnel vision.

Has your country supported torture recently.

Has your country purchased illegal ammunition that can only be used on your own sovereign soil...hollowpoint ammunition is banned in the theater of war by the Geneva conventions.

Therefore all those munitions are for use in YOUR country, why is this perceived to be necessary provisioning?

Is your country attempting to usurp your own constitutions second amendment, no matter what excuse is used, the only way a constitutional ruling can be changed is by referendum and the vote must pass the litmus test of above the 75% affermitive or the proposed change fails, such are the rules of democracy.

And unlike your presedential election processes a referendum vote has to be offered to each and every citizen of voting age.

It is independant of any and all other influences, no party politics, it is each and every citizens personal vote!

Just a thought.

Sad thing is, people will see that as a legitimate justification for its existence.

A list of names is produced who is against
Chavez. Then the CIA recruits those individuals
by making contact and supporting them with
