i agree with the person who said the bear wanted the snacks the hunter might tend to leave in his tree stand.

i don't know that people shoot black bears, ever. they're cute.
I wouldn't recommend bothering them, but they keep to themselves. like this one saw a man there and just left. if he'd wanted the man gone, he could've pushed him off the tree stand.

a friend of mine encountered a black bear that wandered into a populated area. the park rangers just herded the bear back into the woods. the bear was just lost.
