It would, because now we are god. We have defeated his original sentence on man (if you believe that BS story in Genesis) - we know both good and bad, and live forever. Masters of ourselves. Who needs god, or religions for that matter...

You don't believe now, so I am not surprised you don't see why people still would.

Sorry, even if you become immortal, your still stuck sharing the planet with us believers.

:)

Yep, masters and believers of BS... why would they? Religion is a mental crutch for a better after life and condition. Humans become immortal, through technology, become more logical, life is great, we live forever, we basically have everything that your pathetic "god" in the OT stole from humans. So who needs him? It was all a great story and money maker while it lasted...

Also for a better life in this life as well.
Christians (the REAL ones) are one of the most happiest people in the planet.

That's true.

Yes, I get that you feel that way...but you're just plain wrong about "religion" disappearing if we become immortal.

I agree about the technology being close, you are right about that. But if it's close, and more people on this planet right now believe in a god than don't believe, there will be more immortal believers than non believers.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but you will have an immortal life with believers.
 Quoting: *Evan

Wow the conundrum of a religious immortal - hey, guess your never going to the big palace in the sky... that would suck... hahahahaha....

also if we actually rule out sickness
you forget about all the great natural disasters this earth has.
you can't become immortal to that.
The earth is constantly trying to kill us.

Here is the bottom line, the religios are pathetic. They somehow believe that their is some nice afterlife awaiting them. Then why in the fuck did god make this shit world only to destroy it, and transfer your sorry ass to some other place? BULLSHIT... this is it, and your dreams, stories, and BS, have come to an end... live in the here and now, and stop with the religious mental masterbation...
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 3558872

Ohh, your sad? Why? Only a sad person with no self respect cares soo much about what others believe, and insult them for excercising their 1st amendment right to freedom of religion.

Once you are at peace with yourself, others beliefs are no concern to you.

I hope you get over whatever is eating you inside...

Sin destorys the world. God made this earth with intentions of it being immortal but left it up to Mans choice on whether it would be or not. And as you can see we choose a life of "knowledge" over a life of bliss and immortality.

Its a mental crutch that afflicts the poor and those that have nothing in this world, hoping for something better in the next life. Its a means of not being responsible for your own destiny, since "god knows best", or "god will take care of it"... its a means to control people. Science is what you CAN see.

All Science is tangible answers for intangible questions.
I am not against science, I believe God created science, but to say full relying on science is open mindness, you are the retard.

Which begs the question, why then did you become one?

You do realize that religion is a facet of TIME and PLACE, correct?

Had you have been born in central america during the 13th century you would believe in native religions, japan - buddhist, middle east - islam, and on and on we go. So by saying that christians have the "right" religion or "truth" is really hypocritical bullshit, because religion is a facet of TIME and PLACE...

No, otherwise we would be christian. christians are only christian because either they won't take no after life as an answer, or they have been scared into thinking "what if there is a god? i will go to hell if i don't believe!!" or they have been brainwashed as a kid by their parents or school.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 41977957

That statement is false. I am a christian, was an atheist, and I didn't become a christian out of fear of hell, or fear of no afterlife.

So that statement is absolutely false.

For real!
I choose Christianity because I was in the pit of drugs drowning in my brokenness and God swooped me up and cleaned me and renewed me and I couldn't help but follow him.

When one learns how great God is, you can't help but praise him.

What a twisted, biased way to view a Christian.
When people react like this it makes think your just scared that there is actually a hell.

You just don't understand.
Do you really think we would be praising a fucking heartless asswipe dictator?
Hell no!!
Not me atleast!!!
You know that saying (its actually a verse)
that says
Love is patient
Love is Kind
Love is long-suffering
Love doesn't insist on its own way
Love doesn't not boast
Love doesn't rejoice in evil
The bible says God is love, and that is the definition of Love.
That is who God is.
You can't love God nor praise him when you don't understand who he is.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 3558872

Yea, I have heard that argument before too.

You have nothing original.

It's ok though, I was an atheist for 23 yrs of my life. I thought ill of those who believed. I thought they were weak minded, brainwashed fools. So I understand where you come from.

I too am a man of science. Science and god are not opposing things. I studied Biology at Berekeley, so I am probly more of a man of science than most atheists.

Be at peace with yourself, whatever it means. If it means atheism for you, than fine, it's your life, your journey, but your ill feelings are showing everyone you are not truly at peace.

 Quoting: *Evan

The peave is that you religious pious hyprocrites, preach this bullshit, and yet you know nothing about the foundations, or foundings of Christianity, and religion in general. Its a mental crutch that afflicts the poor and those that have nothing in this world, hoping for something better in the next life. Its a means of not being responsible for your own destiny, since "god knows best", or "god will take care of it"... its a means to control people. From its very inception, religion was 1000% manmade bullshit...
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 3558872

You know what I know? You think I don't know the foundation of christianity? You think I havn't heard all the stuff you say a million times already?

Your assumptions say more than your actual points you're trying to make.
 Quoting: *Evan

So then you continue to believe something that is a blatant lie and fallacy? That is not logical... but allowing yourself to be duped for a mental feel good feeling...

LOL
You can't tell me that its false.
You don't know!
You aren't me, you didn't walk in my shoes, and sure as hell didn't go through this experience with me.
You have no grounds to say false
because you simply have no grounds on to knowing what I went through.
