The indication is clear that the transponders were indeed turned off, becuase of the near collision and the fact that three jets where all in the same airspace without knowing the others were there.

So the question remains, why would the transponders be turned off?

If the, so called tankers, were filming the Fedex plane it would also have trails behind it. I spent 22 years flying at those altitudes and nothing to see here. But have fun anyway.

That's a fair point, but it doesn't dismiss the fact that two aircraft passing eachother at those distances (what looks to be within 2000 feet separation) constitutes a serious incident and would need to be reported to the FAA and the airforce.

I have much respect for service men/women! I grew up in a military family. Dad was e7 just before I move out on my own.

I had a spot at Annapolis Naval Academy but turned it down for a civilian life instead.

That wasn't anything like a near collision, as the planes are clearly more than 1,000ft. from each other at all times. Also, there is nothing to indicate that the planes didn't know about each other.

The video wasn't taken from a FedEx jet. The voice was on the radio, and the jet the video was taken from was a 737NG, which FedEx has none of.
