Belgian User ID: 41993714 Belgium 06/22/2013 06:15 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Nope... we have a huge problem... especially with the "indoor" growing (Westland). GMO + artificial light growing... hmm... we were already freaks, what's next ? Looks like NL again is a "testbed" for new "projects" Stupid me , I thought the whole of EU zone was GMO free. Should inform me better in the future. Thanks OP for the new knowledge. You are not the only one who did think the same way. So we seems to be both stupid, or .... mislead. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 42102309 Australia 06/22/2013 06:17 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I read recently somewhere that the reason Cancer rates are skyrocketing is to do with the pesticides and fungicides that we use in our crops. In the old days we would eat food grown in our gardens or by farmers that did not dowse everything in fungicide. This produce had natural ingredients to fight off any cancer cells circulating in the body. The fungicides put on crops today kill off these natural ingredients so when ingested are no use against the cancer cells hence the increased rates of Cancer. There is a lot of information coming forward that points to the fact that cancer may in fact be a fungus (Italian Doctor is putting forward the theory) so this makes sense. Long story short, grow your own food if possible. Go to the Farmers Markets or buy off local organic farmers. This will up your chances of being Cancer Free. BTW - TPTB know all of this is the case but continue the use of GM Foods, etc, because it is way to continue Population Control. |
Belgian User ID: 41993714 Belgium 06/22/2013 06:21 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Look at the European map f.e. Monsanto spreads like cancer, regions affected others not, cross provinces and cities, autonomous regions etc... but within boundaries of nations often, yet clustering like a metastisizing cancer. Fits the stories of the farmers well, doesn't it? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1725135 They're exterminating us. Remember the potatoes they did modify ? Protesters did try to destroy the fields. They face criminal charges and jail. Nobody does worry about the long term risk and the legal aspects to patent foot such as potatoes, rice, corn... It is their first step to kill or enslave people, maybe to destroy nature itself. Nobody cares. Btw a lot of Belgian Universities are involved and do receive money from Bayer and Monsanto.... The great bio-'technology' science... |

EMPerror User ID: 8804293 Lithuania 06/22/2013 06:22 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | map might be a little misleading, because, at least here it only shows which regions/municipalities have been officially declared GMO free, but that doesn't mean the rest is producing GMO crops - it just means there's no official recognition of it Quoting: SetMeFree as far as I know, we have GMO banned here It is misleading. EU allows only 2 varieties of GMO corn and potato. Growing of GMO is not allowed here too. Only experimental or scientific growth in controlled environment, where spreading is prevented. The law just tells that to do that, you must get approval from ministry. No sane minister would allow it to grow in open field, as it's clear political suicide. It did happen once and ended in parliament sooner than plants were planted. There were several scandals. Traces 0,3% were found in Rapeseeds (used for biofuel?) which are likely the result of contamination coming from transport used also for imported animal feedingstuff. Seeds, plants from fields did not have it and were not destroyed. Now there is increased DNA testing. The problem, GMO is imported, used to feed animals. There are allowed 30 varieties of GMO that can be imported into EU: 17 corn, 6 rapeseed, 5 cotton, 2 soybeans. Last Edited by EMPerror on 06/22/2013 06:25 PM |

Belgian User ID: 41993714 Belgium 06/22/2013 06:30 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | In Belgium, we did think GM food was banned, until we saw in the news protesters did try to ruin a field full of those genetic manipulated potatoes. The rule was, for scientific research, there can be such fields if they are well separated from the surrounding nature ! So they did put some fences arround it. Of course, the bees, moles, etc can pass freely. There is interaction. But who cares. They will put the protesters to jail. |

EMPerror User ID: 8804293 Lithuania 06/22/2013 06:43 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | No, it is not. If you follow the link and click on the countries' pages on the left side, you'll see what I mean. GMO is not grown in Lithuania so still GMO free. At least MSM tells that. It is not banned completely in the law, permit is required, so one can only hope that it won't happen in the future, permit won't be issued. However, AH, Poiesz, Aldi, Lidl and all the others have the same stuff everywhere. Best to avoid vegetables that are notorious for GMO use. Soak your veggies properly, half an hour with sodium bicarbonate (baking soda), rinse well. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 5975214 Germany 06/24/2013 08:45 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Its taken me a week to find non GMO masa corn flour. Finally had to special order it from a health food store. This is what you use to make tortillas. Sad that the staple food for Mexicans is almost 100% GMO. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1544701 Better Labeling is the key ! We have good GMO labeling in Germany How is Holland doing with the labeling ? |
