Let me get this right a Whistleblower goes to China, a communist country...and now he flies to Russia, another communist country that is known to kill whistleblowers with a shot in the head? Dumb move. He should of went to Iran. That's what I would have done.

I always thought that the ICELAND story was a diversion!

I hope all this is true and that this brave young man has escaped the clutches of Holder et al.

May the Lord guide him and protect both him and his Wikileaks companion.

Bravo Hong Kong! Bravo Russia! and Bravo Venezuela!

Re: BREAKING: Snowden Currently On a Flight To Russia
Some people seem to think, the govt went against the Constitution first on the 4th Amendment, so they are free go against Article 3 and support a traitor.

Legally - both would be against the law.

Who did wrong first is not a principle in law? Seldom would it get you forgiveness, but perhaps a lighter sentence.

And if the courts found that the 4th ammendment had not be gone against, the supporters of the traitor would get a body slam.

You just can't make this sh*t up. Any American supporting Snowden because of the Constitution is like a dog chasing their tail.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 42095518

The only traitors are the ones in support of the spying program. Snowden is not a traitor. He is a hero!

DERP!

If your profile is correct and you are from Canada, you have every right to publicly say that.

I'm sure Canada has a similar program though. Russia, Britain and the US do.

Once fully protected, and assured exile he should dump everything he had to the press... You've only seen a small fraction.

They will still try to eliminate all of it, if they can find it... It is his only protection now, and why he was alive and well in Hong Kong...

Your kind of thinking is frightening.

You are so wrong that it's unbelievable.

In every other country their constitution protects the government from the people.

IN THE USA THE CONSTITUTION PROTECTS THE PEOPLE FROM THE GOVERNMENT!!!
 Quoting: CuriosityCat1

Through the legal system, not through people's opinion of how it is supposed to be interpreted.

Senators said that PRISM was legal. It is legal because Mitch McConnel worked on the definition of electronic surveillance to make it legal.

This will be worked out according to how the courts interpret the law and the Constitution.

Have you ever seen a ruling you disagreed with? Well you might get to see another one, before this is over.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 42095518

4th Amendment Text
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
 Quoting: CuriosityCat1

Article 3, section 3, clause 1 of the U.S. Constitution specifies that the giving of aid and comfort to the enemy is an element in the crime of Treason. Aid and comfort may consist of substantial assistance or the mere attempt to provide some support; actual help or the success of the enterprise is not relevant.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 42095518

On a different note: Al Qaeda and the Taliban are enemies, yet the US government is supplying them with arms and intel and training, which is high treason. And illegal according to International Law, against the Geneva Convention.
Supplying non governmental groups with arms is against the law.

All this pretty much blows out the window these days. The government has been working to destroy the constitutions by establishing a NWO. The courts and judges are controlled by the government, for the most part. What the government has been doing is against the constitution, so what Snowden does is FOR the constitution.

The fact that NSA and UK's GCHQ wiretapped all phonecalls and e-mails of all politicians is BIG.

And maybe we Greek might learn if it was indeed NSA and GCHQ who, through Vodafone's Greek IT infrastructure, wiretapped former Greek Prime Minister Kostas Karamanlis from 2004 till 2008

If it happens, Americans will be whining that it happened. It would create chaos and disruption in services. Bet on it. Americans would condemn the group who brought it on. LOL

you guys have to see the other side.

now that this huge spyoperation is unveiled what do you think will terrorist(if they exist) do?
avoid the internet?
avoid phones?
find other solutions?

PROBABLY!

so if there is a threat of terrorism......

it will get much harder to cover them after snowden spoke out.
i bet he didnt think about this when he decided to talk.

we all do not know for sure which threats are out there.
