An Ordinary Greek User ID: 42131407 Greece 06/23/2013 05:40 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | " The HKSAR Government today (June 23) issued the following statement on Mr Edward Snowden: Quoting: SourceMr Edward Snowden left Hong Kong today (June 23) on his own accord for a third country through a lawful and normal channel. The US Government earlier on made a request to the HKSAR Government for the issue of a provisional warrant of arrest against Mr Snowden. Since the documents provided by the US Government did not fully comply with the legal requirements under Hong Kong law, the HKSAR Government has requested the US Government to provide additional information so that the Department of Justice could consider whether the US Government's request can meet the relevant legal conditions. As the HKSAR Government has yet to have sufficient information to process the request for provisional warrant of arrest, there is no legal basis to restrict Mr Snowden from leaving Hong Kong. The HKSAR Government has already informed the US Government of Mr Snowden's departure. Meanwhile, the HKSAR Government has formally written to the US Government requesting clarification on earlier reports about the hacking of computer systems in Hong Kong by US government agencies. The HKSAR Government will continue to follow up on the matter so as to protect the legal rights of the people of Hong Kong. Ends/Sunday, June 23, 2013 Issued at HKT 16:05 " PWNED!!! |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 38102959 United States 06/23/2013 05:42 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | youre all dumb this man betrayed your country! Quoting: Anonymous Coward 42175349 as an inside of the cia he stole informations and gave them to other countries! the usa the cia the fbi is doing the best to control and secure everything around and for your security! and you say that what snowden has done is in fact good? how dumb someone must be! Youre wrong. Our country continues to betray us and take our rights away little by little, all the while stealing our tax dollars to give to the Muslim brotherhood or oops haha we misplaced 9 trillion....oh we should pay for that too!! Snowden is courageous in exposing the truth. If they were really protecting us from "terrorists", why didn't they thwart the Boston Marathon bombing? Why are the giving weapons to terrorists in Syria? Someone needs to stand up to this administration. Glad he is. Peace and love |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 41104530 United States 06/23/2013 05:45 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Isn't amazing? Russia builds massive underground shelters under mountains to house her entire population and here in the US we get FEMA camps and Fusion Centers to imprison us (and then probably either re-education programs or flat out execution). Oh what a change - Russia is like the USA in days gone by, and the USA is acting like Russia in the old days. Read 'The Gulag Archipelago' by Alksandr Solzhenitsyn for a refresher course in case you're unfamiliar with the history of Russia. Now, it's 'From Russia, with Love' for American defectors. I'm beginning to think Paul McCartney had it right with his song "Back in the USSR" - "You don't know how lucky you are, boy" - a premonition with Snowden perhaps? For all intents and purposes, we, the American citizenry, are now 'enemies of the state'. At the very least, there is no doubt about the situation at hand. Decision time wouldn't you say? |

Even more funny given the previous 'threat' from the US as reported by CNN: "If Hong Kong doesn't act soon, it will complicate our bilateral relations and raise questions about Hong Kong's commitment to the rule of law," the administration official said. |

Now, the Russians (your enemy whether you believe it or not) will get everything !!! That is the problem when leaders reward incompetence and depravity, eventually they become it themselves... Anonymous Coward User ID: 3264109 United States 06/23/2013 06:18 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I am an American, and I have to say my government is not only evil, but stupid as nails. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 42179012 Snowden was a snitch who broke his oaths, but the guy still still knew some stuff that he probably wouldn't of revealed if they offered him amnesty. Now, the Russians (your enemy whether you believe it or not) will get everything !!! That is the problem when leaders reward incompetence and depravity, eventually they become it themselves... Stoned Prophet The moment Clapper lied to Senator Wyden of the Senate Oversight Committee -- under oath -- he became a rogue agent running a rogue program. I am not the least bit interested in living in a country where such perjury is encouraged to deceive the people or the terrorists. It totally destroys the entire meaning of law. He could have refused to answer until the session was closed. He could have talked his way out of answering. But what he did -- to blatantly lie like that -- cannot be tolerated. Snowden and every other American at that time should have been DUTY-BOUND to prove that Clapper perjured himself. This system isn't designed for terrorism. It's designed to prevent any possibility of an internal revolution over these increasingly frequent unconstitutional acts. The oligarchs need it to protect themselves from the angry hordes. |
