Oh please. Yet another media twisting of facts to achieve a pre-desired outcome. Any "tweaking" of current law is simply to make it illegal for private citizens to attach cameras to their RC planes/helicopters. Of course, the local police and the feds will be able to use drones with absolutely no conditions placed there-upon.

I love how they totally overplay the fact that he flew over a pool that happened to have some stupid bitch in a bikini laying aside it. The operator clearly was not focusing on her yet they still really really really needed to point the fact that she was there out. As if the operator couldn't have just gone to lay at the pool to get a good look at her. In fact, the pool is SURROUNDED by apartment buildings and windows. Me thinks the little whore was HOPING someone would pay attention to her.

Also the "Drone CAM" Overlay applied to the footage to heighten the drama...

Reveal? Those flying the drone already have the footage. What point is it to "discover" what the drone recorded.

And I loved the State rep's overall reaction that the law should be updated. She's pissed some poor innocent sap isn't going to jail over this. So of course she promises to look into "tweaking" the law so innocent people can go to jail for doing innocent things while the government can of course continue to spy on our every move. If a private person spied on us like our gov't does, they'd be guilty of hacking charges, wiretapping charges, stalking charges, etc.

If you are sunbathing outside with buildings around, there is always the possibility someone will take photographs. If you look good, for those reasons. If you look bad, for other reasons.

I am NOT blaming the woman for sunbathing at a pool. I do not think anything is wrong with doing that. But, it is naive if she thinks no one is watching and possibily photographing her. This is why I do not advise any woman to go outdoors in a bathing suit that is less than they are comfortable with someone seeing them or taking their tops off unless they are o.k. with people seeing their breasts.

I live beside a highway. It is not that busy and we have land (trees) in between. I have been outside in a bathing suit. I realize people could possibly see me, but the bathing suit was reasonably modest (and I never removed it while outdoors), so if someone had photos I could deal with knowing that.

This comment struck me as extremely stupid:

I mean come the fuck on, this drone is a 9oz peice of plastic and aluminum, even one of those shitty little smart cars would smash it to smithereens if it hit the thing at highway speeds. All that would happen is the car might end up with a few scratches on the paint, if that!

And then the drone owner would of course be charged with a terrorist attack or some dumb shit like that...

you can see each flight starts innocently enough. But you can see the potential for bad behavior.
In one shot, the drone races toward an apartment window, getting within feet of the glass.

In another shot, the drone hovers over a female sunbather at a pool. She’s completely unaware that it’s there, and she never looks up.

But the scariest shot of all shows the drone wobbling high over I-4 as cars zoom by down below. The drivers have no idea that the drone was out of control at that point, and only seconds away from crashing.

The reason for the media attack on drones to gather support for legislation against drones IN ORDER TO PROTECT THEM FROM US. Hobbyist FPVs represent the same threat to the tyrannical regime that guns do. They are the people's eyes in the sky.
