Quoting: Anonymous Coward 42204092 it is quite expensive here; about 6 euros for the equivalent of a cup. It depends on what type you get--I really should have clarfied. I don't know which is cheaper, there's refined and unrefined coconut oil. One is used for cooking (costs more-at the co-op it's about $8 and has about 2 cups worth). The other can be used for moisturizer and all those other uses- it's about 5 cups for $11. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 42204092 Germany 06/30/2013 04:17 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | me again; bought some expensive virgin coconut oil from an organic shop today. i really do like the smell, and i like to use it as sunscreen (only sunscreen i´d ever take, btw, even if i am one of those with ginger hair and light skin)as i did before. inspired by your thread, i put some on my scalp and gently massaged some into the dry and split ends of my hair and will leave it there for at least 12hrs. but: how do i get it off tomorrow, when i´m showering and shampooing my hair? will it not completely disappear from my hair, therefore have no effect at all? btw, this small pot of virgin coconut oil which is 250ml (1 cup) was 9,95 euros. and, yes, you get a ham/cheeseburger at micky D´s here for 99cent as well. |

Quoting: Mister Obvious It's great for your whole body inside and out. Biotin is also good for the hair. but it's loaded with saturated fat Coconut Oil - Here's what you need to know about this amazing rejuvenation and healing oil Coconut oil is predominantly medium-chain fatty acid (MCFA) and the effects of the MCFA in coconut oil are distinctly different from the LCFA found in other foods. In fact, the saturated and unsaturated fat in milk, eggs, meat and even in plants and most vegetable oils are made of LCFA. Why is this relevant? It is important because our bodies respond and metabolize each fatty acid differently. It is the MCFA found in coconut oil that makes it special because these fatty acids do not have a negative effect on cholesterol. In fact, they are known to lower the risk of heart disease and atherosclerosis. There are only few dietary sources of MCFA, and one of the best sources by far is coconut oil. anon coconut User ID: 1575004 United States 07/02/2013 12:07 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I've been using coconut oil for a very long time. I scramble eggs in it, pop popcorn, use it in sugar scrubs, make-up remover, etc.. I do put it in my hair but it takes a couple of washings to get it out and not look greasy. It does make my hair full and shiny. I use Nutiva brand and purchase it by the gallon. [link to store.nutiva.com (secure)] |

Leave on for two hours. Rinse with warm, not hot, not cold water. Just water, warm water. Next day resume normal hair shampoo ect.... Do once a week. Accept it and be proud of it? 80% of men have some kind of hair loss by 60. The small 20% who don't actually are more female than male they have less testosterone. And Females who don't like men who are bald generally have lesbian tendencies and are not quite right themselves. |
