The passage in Romans, in particular is so clear that it seems to have been written by St. Paul in anticipation that people might challenge the idea that homosexual behavior is wrong (in case you don't get it, let me make it perfectly clear!). In addition, there are numerous other passages that touch on this topic indirectly through comments on the biblical view of marriage and family, promiscuity, and sexual purity. Included in these references are Genesis 2:18-25; Proverbs 18:22; Mark 7:21, 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5; Romans 6:13, 13:13; 1 Corinthians 6:13, 18-19; Galatians 5:19-21; Ephesians 5:3; Colossians 3:5; Revelation 21:8, 22:15. So you have suggested that the men who want to rape the angels are homosexuals, and that is the reason for God’s initial judgment that the city was wicked. But that is not how the text reads in its original context. (ALL of the men and boys of Sodom came to Lot's house so were they ALL "homosexuals"? Male on male rape was a common way of dishonoring a person in Lot's time.) No Jewish scholars before the first Christian century taught that the sin of Sodom was sexual. None of the biblical references to Sodom mention sexual sins but view Sodom as an example of injustice, lack of hospitality to strangers, idolatry and as a symbol for desolation and destruction. Ezekiel 16:49,50 says, " Now this was the sin of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy. They were haughty and did detestable things before me. Therefore I did away with them as you have seen" (NIV). If homosexuality was the "sin of Sodom," this was Ezekiel’s perfect opportunity to declare that fact. He didn't. And neither did any other author of the Bible, when referring to Sodom and Gomorrah. So a true Sodomite is actually someone who, among other things, is haughty and arrogant - much like many of the anti-homosexual Christian apologists that have posted here. .
