I saw the trailer a while back and meh... it looked good with elements of annoying "musical" interlude type of nuisances...

I know it's not a musical but seriously. It looked annoying.

It's actually a very, very good movie with lots of neat twists and turns.

At firsh I was "meh," but I want to see it again.

I just could not believe the outright Illuminati message. I mean, c'mon...the group is called The Four Horsemen and they are recruiting for The Eye of Horus.

They are exposed and they now know their time is limited.

Okay, so, the four magicians are called The Four Horsemen. Come to find out, the Eye of Horus is held sacred by magicians.

Lots of twists and turns in the plot, so I don't want to give it away....but...

666 is continually repeated (see the doors and floors)

Big heists in Las Vegas (Sin City, immorality & greed)

New Orleans (Katrina victims)

New York (9/11 reference?)

Now, they are recruiting for the next BIG ONE! (My guess with the "C" and "P" gate clues that it'll be Chicago and Paris (???)

Explains the Eye of Horus beginnings as it relates to magic and magicians.

I just think the symbols are just so blatant that it was super simple to pick them out.

I didn't even pick up on some of those. I read it that you can't take magic and use it for evil or it will come back to haunt you. I saw references to ascension, the ending...the club would be people who work on elevating their consciousness. Also, that all the money will have to be given back, but more in the symbolic sense than the literal. Keep in mind, I am an eternal optimist.

Ive seen the movie as well, for anyone that thinks its a recruitment tool for the Illuminati has a negative/fear based psyche.

They steal money from people that deserve it and give it to the audience without keeping a penny for themselves.

One way of looking at it is to imagine that Morgan Freeman's character is the Christian narrative and Ruffalo's character is about his fallen "father" (Satan).

With Ruffalo's character, he is behind the scenes, the puppetmaster if you will. He is always outsmarted and exposed by Freeman's character.

However, if looked at it from that perspective, evil actually wins (Ruffalo) and good loses (Freeman).

I don't know, just interesting to look at it from those perspectives.

Much more realistic.

The movie had some funny snarky moments. The end however was kinda weird with the all-seeing-eye. Maybe related to the sequel? Still I liked it and have no aspiration to become a recruit for the Illuminati.

I'm just curious how you're connecting the illuminati conspiracy(which is only as real as we make it IMHO) with the story in this movie. I'm not saying there isn't greedy people in powerful positions that focus on the material, but the single eye connection being considered evil is kind of limited thinking right?
