I agree that it was a test for "targeting" accounts- even if it was a random specific target test. They did the same thing a few months back with the AFDC benefits. And I think that the bigger picture will be to "set up the system" to be "target specific" and then do what they did in Cyprus. And of course they will shut down all the federal benefit checks eventually, but I think the specific targets will be those with over 100,000. But of course, they can't play with those accounts yet, so there using all the poor folks cards and accounts to set up the program for target accounts nation-wide. For example, maybe the program was designed for any recipient with 525.00 or over on the "card" couldn't access his account. I don't know- I'm just throwing that out there.

well...now THAT would make sense. i started having these types of problems back in 2009 / 2010 and blamed my hacker ex-husband.
my security code for calling to get status disappeared than re-appeared....the "big" bank could not explain it. my card would not work / be declined when i had money in the acct - this is still on-going now every now and then. i am working toward cash only, which is why thankfully i've not been stuck without a means to pay. still have to pay rent and bills with checks though.

Early last week, Canada's largest bank (Royal Bank of Canada [RBC]) suffered a day-long 'freeze' on deposits made through INTERAC, which is an online money transfer system done through emails. People could send money, but the recipient couldn't process the payment. The problem started early in the morning and lasted all day until around 8 p.m. The reason for the 'freeze' was explained away as 'an issue' on the RBC website. No other explanation was offered.

During that more than 13-hour period, billions of dollars would have been 'frozen' (held) in the bank's coffers. Someone who understands the banking system may have an explanation as to why this 'held' money would benefit the bank. In any case, this appears to be a growing trend -- withholding people's money without notice and without a reasonable explanation.

I watched a video the other night and the guys credit card and debit card were both declined. he had to go to an atm to get some cash. always carry cash....

local small banks usually have free checking accts, only way to go. still a deal for them.

Well, since he is on ssi, I suppose he doesn't have the minimum amount of money in his account to get a free one. And it is a very small bank, only 2 or 3 locations. He said a couple years ago, Soc. Sec. stopped allowing checks to be sent in the mail and it became required it be sent electronically. So he got a checking account.

I live in Brazil, and today my visa was declined when I was trying to buy some stuff on american ebay. Called visa and they could not explain what was the problem.

This is what Illinois is doing with child support. There have been many "glitches" in their "system" to send out checks lately.

IL IRS is pulling similar shenanigans with their paperwork.

I'm on the fence over whether or not these are true glitches caused by tons of staffing/budget cuts to fund patronage or test "outages".

I can't speak for the other poster, but yes they are all parasites. All these programs are little more than wealth redistribution, plain and simple. They may have paid in a small percentage to the 'programs' but they were not solvent from day one. These programs have always about wealth redistribution from those that have worked and earned money and our children to those that think they need our money -- all done for political gain.
