Confused on your way of thinking. I have no insurance but had to bring my baby to the doctor. I don't see you having to pay my bill, just as when I was insured I don't recall paying anyone elses doctor bill. I will have to pay it when I get it, and I guarantee it will be cheaper than insurance charges me a month. I can't afford insurance, so I will never be insured again. I do believe me working to support my children and going without insurance is a lot better than sitting at home on my butt and having the govt pay to feed us and pay our insurance.

How the eff is this going to help uninsured Americans??? If they can't afford the Zerocare premiums they will still have to pay the retarded fine and they STILL won't have health insurance. Will the IRS keep the penalties in an account for each family and then allow them to use it as a type of health savings account for medical care down the road as needed? I don't think so.

This whole cluseterfuck was designed to further screw the middle class. The leeches of society qualify for the dole aka medicaid and the wealthy can afford to pay whatever for insurance premiums.

And I am tired of stupid bastards saying "well Europe has socialized medicine, look how great it works there." This is NOT European style socialized medicine. In Europe everyone, regardless of income, can use the socialized system. In this country under this clusterfuck only the leeches get to use the system for "free." Everyone else has to pay out the ass or get fucked with a penalty in the form of a tax and they STILL won't health insurance at the end of the day.

It's $95, $325 and $695 or 1%, 2% or 2.5% of household income, whichever is GREATER.

If you make $40,000 a year you will owe $400 the first year, $800 the next and $1000 the next.

The article does not say if the % jumps again after year 3. Even if it does not jump based on the way this clusterfuck is written today you can bet your ass it will since this is an easy way for the gov to extort more tax money from the public.

People have been taught that a direct tax is a power of Congress, on people[capitation]--- if this was true from the beginning no 16th amendment was ever needed. The incomes tax is on corporation privileges, where the Income is the measure not the tax itself. The government has no authority to levy an indirect tax on people as IF it was Direct--- unconstitutional--- which is why it is wrapped language-wise around the word Taxpayer, to purposely confuse the actual taxing power itself.

The tax is not enforceable as written on any NONtaxpayer-- Congress has no authority to write any law which violates the unalienable Rights, but they can write policy... which people then need to distinguish from Law. The gov. hates people who do this, but too bad. A genuine Direct tax authority ON People does not exist, unless applied by Census and apportionment and only then as a measure to be sent to the States.

The income tax is a special excise on corporate privileges, buying insurance is not a privilege. Having good health is not exactly a Right, or a privilege and either way is not subject to any authority of Congress--- which does not control peoples health. This is an absurdity. Do they push a magic button which makes people suddenly more healthy? Congress, only has authority over what it creates. A mans health is not in any taxing category, but insurance is a service which crosses state lines. This is just more manipulation by language not any desire to help people, or they would have tackled the real cause of rising costs... drug companies for instance and their monopolies of pricing control.

That is the other factor which is odious, they want money for nothing and there is no provision which is going to stop the inflation of costs, thus higher medical costs to the insured will just go up. There are better ways to make health care more affordable, but that is not the goal here... it is just another scam to make people pay more in taxes and get very little of anything in return.

I don't believe in medical insurance, and I don't believe in care by organized medicine. That's MY CHOICE as a free American.

Read the fine print, and read it carefully. There are NO options to collect the "penalty" other than intercepting any "refund". If you arrange your income(if any) and withholding properly, you will owe the IRS, not the other way around. Interest and penalties on an unpaid "penalty" are specifically prohibited in the law. This means that as long as you don't allow any of your payment to go to the "penalty"(do this in writing), then they are SOL.

Eventually this bunch of DC losers will have to capitulate to those who ignore them. Until then, stay smart and keep your own counsel.

Those who planned this have to know what we are thinking, (and they probably do) so you would think they already have a contingency in place, just in case things don't work out the way they wanted. Our discussions here and on other sites provide good insight into the minds of those who oppose this regime. We can only guess how far they will take this.

Also the interest rate on student loans just doubled today and I hear that dems want it to help fund Obamacare.
