Around 3rd grade, my child brought home "Chicago" Math, which is basically 10 minutes of guessing instead of properly teaching them how to solve math problems.

I wrote a letter to the teacher and the principal expressing that my child was going to do math the old fashioned way, by solving problems, and he was not allowed under any circumstances to use "Chicago Math" guessing to help. They told me they did not want to teach it, but they were forced to and nobody else was complaining.
