Rejoice! Colorado Posts rules for sale of LEGAL Marijuana! | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 957683 United States 07/02/2013 12:09 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Looks like legal sales won't start till January but Colorado has gone ahead and posted their rules for legal recreational sale and use of marijuana in their state. Quoting: chazbone Pretty big move! Looks like out of state residents can buy up to a quad @ every visit while in state people can get a nice OZ! Look to see Colorado's economy take a nice little bump after January. When will the rest of the country wake up to the Green Revolution! They should do what Oregon does. No pound can sell for over 1800 dollars. Indoor or outdoor. You can't ask for more than 1800 dollars for any unit no matter quality. I like it. |

How will a police officer know for sure if someone is driving while high, the same way as a DUI with alcohol? (walk a straight line, breathalyzer?) Quoting: MichaelRB IMHO...a small step forward for the pot head and a giant step backwards for society. Wow... You know there are states with Medical MJ already in place, so they know how to deal with these issues. You really think driving stoned is a national issue that will affect society? Stop being so dramatic! Have you even experienced pot before? Don't speak for everyone, a lot of people can function 100% normally after ingestion. Don't believe everything your DARE officer teaches you... Tried it once...made me sleepy and slowed my responses. A lot of people, the majority, also function differently, ie slower. Very true! I have the same response to alcohol, that's why I hate to drink and choose not too. I also don't go around telling people who drink on how to live their lives (not saying you do that :) ). If you don't like my fire, then don't come around. cause I'm gonna burn one down! |

Quoting: MichaelRB It's happening. It just takes time. More states are proposing bills and the public stance on the issue is shifting in favor of legalization. Give it a few years and you will see more states following suit. Ummm maybe the social costs out weigh what the individual (pothead) gains? Quoting: MichaelRB:What do cigarette smokers and alcohol drinkers gain from those substances? What are the social costs? Why are those substances legal? : ) |

Since when is an individuals natural right worth less than "social costs"? Seriously? And yes, smoking pot is a natural right. The right to put in your own body whatever you freak'n wish or on the flip-side, not to have something put INTO your body without your consent. |

Quoting: MichaelRB Ummm maybe the social costs out weigh what the individual (pothead) gains? It's all about profit my friend. TPTB don't make any money off a dime bag being sold. Now arrest that person who bought it, who grew it, who sold it. Charge them, fine them and appoint them with state sanctioned lawyers. You see that line of revenue streaming in now? Gotta pay your lawyers, your fines, etc... the DA looks great with all these arrest numbers which means he gets to keep his job. You know if you ever been arrested for pot (at least in AZ) they DA has up to 5 years to prosecute you. Meaning lets say his numbers are down that 5th year after your arrest for smoking a joint on your patio. All he has to do is file the paperwork and your fucked for something innocent you did 5 years ago. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 42619658 yep, im glad Cali isnt the first for fuly legal we voted full legal down, rather keep it medicinal Why are you glad? Medicinal MJ keeps the money flowing to whoever the state allows to grow/sell/etc... In Colorado it looks like everyone who can have surveillance systems and locked bars wills be able to sell bud. Medicinal MJ is great, but its still helps the man to keep his control over the plant. |

Quoting: chazbone I thought that would be a rule as well, unfortunately that would kill a lot of business for them though. But these new laws specifically state the amount OUT OF STATE residents can buy per visit. Not saying they may eventually change that, but as for now Amsterdam West is open in January! I guess they are looking for something to make up for all the money they are gona lose when hunters stop going there.. Give up hurts to gain pot heads.. Dude not everyone hunts, get over yourself or start a new thread about gun rights in CO. Otherwise toke up and shut up! thanks but I will pass.. not a brain dead moron that needs pot to make it day to day.. Some brain dead folks as yourself do not understand the medical use of said plant. Dope! |

My point is, that it is not going to cause the rash of drug addicts/dealers etc to the state of Colorado as some folks predict. As they will not legally be able to take it home to another state, so the point on that is mute really. It seems to me it will help law enforcement in other states to reach their quotas for the few people stupid enough to try and take it across state lines. |

Colorado is just going to be a low hanging fruit for the feds. Why would things go any different than the direction things have gone in Cali? we have been doing the open weed thing for a long time and things are being shut down, regardless of the laws on the books. The feds will draw the money out in the open, let people get comfortable, then they'll slam the trap door. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 1542840 United States 07/02/2013 12:48 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Lets just hope they do this smart, a create a desirable model for other states to want to follow suit. It would be good to see the tax revenues go towards putting text books back in the hands of every public school student, and lightening the tax burdens on homeowners, not to mention the blow it would strike against the Mexican cartels and the bullshit war on drugs. Hopefully they learned something from when they first legalized it for medical use which became nothing more than a large racket in my opinion, and the provisions are not so ambiguous. |

The Feds have not given this their blessing, and being a primary signatory and initiator of international prohibition through the U.N. The Feds will not simply be able to allow individual States to do as they wish with regards to said prohibition. Of course the amount of direct tax income may cause them to reconsider their options if they let it go long enough. Point being that it is far from cut and dried. |
