YOUR A FUCKING MORAN

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 42856861

While i wont call this guy a moron because he does have the right to do what he is doing... but you have to remember these offices are just doing their job... to keep public safety. while constitutional rights are extremely important to have; these guys also have the same rights, they have family and friends just like we do...they are not clones or aliens. I do understand the point of this video, but why make them target you on purpose? just so you can show them how much of the law you know? they are there for your safety to keep drunks off the road so they don't kill you and your family. Don't make yourself a target. if they target you for no reason whatsoever then invoke those rights as unconstitutional.. Just to be fair both the officers, and the guy involved could have made things go alot smoother had they just respected the law instead of using it to be arrogant.
 Quoting: IMAM:)

So it's his fault that they wasted their time on him instead of getting people who were too drunk to drive so that they can prove their authority trumps any individual rights?whateverjerkitmilitiaantibs

Am I required to show a police officer my drivers license if he requests it?

NO! Not unless you are driving a motor vehicle

Maybe in Canadastan. Checkpoints are illegal. A police officer can investigate (i.e. asking for your ID) if he has reasonable suspicion you are committing a crime.

Just driving down the road is not a reasonable reason to stop you. It's very simple.

Hell, why don't cops just go into every home as well to "see if anything fishy is going on"? Sheesh, give me a break.

It was a DUI check point which I'm all for. How is the cop suppose to detect alcohol of the window is up? Other than that, fuck this cop. Fuck the bullshit tactics they use with the dog. Know your rights, get a camera, be nothing but polite and respectful.
 Quoting: AmericanInfidel

I was dating a girl for a little while who was the purchasing executive for a large computer co. that most of us here aware of. All of her friends were engineers (I'll say it because it disgusts me, RAYTHEON!) and other white collar *successful* people. One night I went to one of her sisters party's. I went to the party from work. I had kind of long hair, blue jeans and a t-shirt and was in my old pickup truck. I don't drink. I was given a beer and I nursed it for over before dumping it.

The party was in a really nice house. I got along with everyone and then was invited to a back bedroom where I found out why everyone was talking so much. ALL of these engineers and executives were doing lines of coke and meth and drinking their brains out.

I hate drunk drivers and I appreciate check points. (I also hate coke heads and tweakers). So who gets pulled over and goes through the field sobriety test? Me. The straight guy with long(ish) hair and an old pickup truck. Who drives right through the check point with a nod and a smile? The BMW/Mercedes, dress slack wearing drunk coke/meth heads.

After that I dumped the girl like I did the stale beer at the party.

The only reasom I don't challenge the cops is that it is oh so easy for a pot seed to fall out of their pocket while searching your vehicle.....then you're fucked.

Think about that.

Some of you need to research the law. If you're operating a motor vehicle, a cop can ask you at any time to show proof that you're allowed to drive it whether you're suspected of committing a crime or not. If you refuse to show your driver's license, they now have reasonable suspicion to believe you're driving without a license, which is a crime. You can argue all you want, that is the law. I don't agree with what the cops did here, but if the guy had just given them his license, he would have grounds to go after the cops for violating his rights. As it stands, they will say his refusal to show a drivers license was enough reasonable suspicion to detain him. This is what happens when people think they know the laws.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 4149302

actually I think YOU need to research the law. NOBODY has to have a license to drive a car. Hell most laws as we know them don't apply to us under the natural law to begin with, but.....for the purposes of this you are very very wrong. The ONLY time anyone would need a license is if you are delivering commerce, that's it. For actual traveling just to travel and get around, you are NOT obligated to have a license or anything of the sort in order to do so.

This country has people totally by the balls through "laws" like this that really only exist because we allow them to stand. It's time we snap out of our stupor and put a stop to this. The only way to really free ourselves from this system is to know our rights, if we don't they can do anything they want and by and large they do.

Being an ex-con shows you really never had any respect for your freedoms or liberties, seeing that you willfully violated constitutional laws whose punishment for doing so you KNEW would be a forfiture of your liberty.

You talking about liberty and freedom is meaningless. You willfully threw it away before, and now you use that as some sort of reason why your opinion on throwing it away again is somehow more valid. You fail.

Perhaps the most dangerous line to the freedom of every American just came straight from your mouth:

"That checkpoint could have saved a family".

In other words: "That checkpoint could have saved a family, so you should have your home searched, your car searched, your bag searched, your rectum searched, your guns taken, your dogs killed, your private information revealed, your medical records revealed, your phone calls monitored, your internet usage monitored, your children micro-chipped, and every one of your rights surrendered because:

"That checkpoint could have saved a family".

14 states do not allow road-blocks. As such, you should contact your state representative/senator if you support legislation to ban road-blocks (or hope like hell that the Appellate Courts have the balls to abolish by judicial fiat). popcorn

Yep and that's not even factoring in the fact that for a law to be broken, there has to be a victim. The state cannot qualify as such. So all laws state related on that front alone are illegal laws.
