Large Scale military operation looming in the sinai - will the egypt army be able to get this under control?

GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- Egypt's army is preparing for a large-scale military operation in Sinai, an army official said Sunday, as forces sealed more smuggling tunnels along the Gaza border.

An Egyptian military official told Ma'an the army was preparing for a major operation in Sinai "to clean it up from terrorist and criminal cells." .....

one question about this:

how can the egypt army be sure that there are not going to be hundrets if not tousands of islamists across the globe flocking to the sinai?

what if the egypt army does not reach its goals?
the islamists will certainly cut any oil, gas and water supply to israel after the attempt to wipe them out.

we will see how this is going to work out.

id rather say that this group which is everything but new has opened a new BRANCH in Egypt.

while the muslim brotherhood is the rather political arm, ansar al sharia is an international militia of the same ideology.
