I have been waging war against the ants

Make sure to do it on a dry day. Water makes it ineffective and less abrasive I read. And apparently its ok to eat but only food grade. Farmers put it in their harvest go deter bugs so we probably already consume some of it in our oat meal or something. Still might be a bad idea to snort it or eat a handful of it. Although it might give the cinnamon challenge a run for its money.

Sprinkle some Borax (laundry isle) around and they will think it's food, it ain't so be prepared to carve them up`a lot of little crosses for grave-markers

I found some liquid stuff at Home Depot. Golden 4 oz. put it in some small water bottle caps. They will come in hoardes at first, then taper off.

There is a special food grade DIA, which I have & use in my smoothies & cereals.

But the one you purchased will get rid of the ants. Put it in any area where they are coming into the house. Or better still, if you can locate their home, cover it over with the DIA and they will vacate the premises. Works every time. It's what I do every spring.

A friend recommended Terro liquid ant traps, and the ants were wiped out pretty quickly and did not come back. Every year they would invade, and then I used this stuff and they stayed away. I live somewhere else now, and you better believe if I ever have an ant problem I will buy more. It's probably bad for pets, so be careful. You can get it at Home Depot. It worked so well I would do commercials to promote it.

My dad sprays the perimeter of his house with some sort of treatment, so that keeps them from coming inside. I don't know what the brand is, but that would be another option.

Some female with a bikini chick avatar on a different thread got all sorts of oohs and ahhs as well as complaints, but one female makes a comment about CP and she gets laughed at...just kidding about being annoyed. I get some Simple Green, it's a nontoxic household cleaner, and spray it on the ants and on their entrances. They die immediately and if you have pets and children you don't have to worry that they'll get poisoned because it's nontoxic.

If they are just regular run-of-the-mill ants a combination of 1/2 20 Mule Team Borax to 1/2 Powdered Sugar will take care of the problem. The sugar attracts them and the Borax kills them. They also track the fine powder back to their friends.

Sprinkle it generously outside the walls where they are coming in. You can use it indoors along the baseboards if you don't have pets that will get into it.

I think they are known as "brain ants" Astral Goat. There's a good chance the queen has migrated into your head via the ear canal while you were sleeping. Chances are she's already laying eggs in there. The workers forage by day waiting for the "nest" to arrive back at night...ie your brain in your bed!
Now it could be the"bum-ants" AG, or common "sphincter ant" which makes a nest...you guessed it, in the deep recesses of the lower intestine...I'd run with your flame method, simultaneously to ensure no escapes.

Do this.
I do it anytime I have ants and they're gone in a day.
Put the mixture in a shallow lid right in their line and they will eat it and die. They dispose of their dead by consuming them, so its a chain raction and it wipes out the colony.

Did you know that ants are great flood&storm tellers when there is one coming soon? If they suddenly come out of their hiding place and they move in a long straight line and usually upward (they seldom do this), it may mean that they sense something is coming. Either a terrible storm/wind or tsunami/flooding. We saw this happened when the Greg Storm happened in the Borneo more than 10 years ago. You'd be wise not to kill them. They are there for a reason.

Each year I use Ant B Gone. I win battles but never the war. Deep military plans have been made for conquering the hills but these fuckers continue to hold the ant ming trail.

I've tried napalm, bombs, bullets and now it is all out chemical warfare of no mercy.
