Sarah Palin considering 2014 US Senate run
"Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin expressed her interest Tuesday in the U.S. Senate seat currently occupied by fellow Alaskan, Democratic Sen. Mark Begich.

In an appearance on Sean Hannity’s radio show, the 2008 vice-presidential nominee elaborated on the prospect of her leaving the Republican Party to form a third party, something she hinted at late last month in an appearance on Fox News.

“Well, [leaving the GOP is] certainly not my first choice,” Palin replied. “The Republican Party is the party of [Abraham] Lincoln and [Ronald] Reagan, and the planks in the platform are right for this country. I stand strong on those planks. I just wish that more of our leadership — the movers and shakers within the party, would stand strong on those planks with the rest of us — those who want to stop Barack Obama’s transformation of America, and the way we do that is by staying true to our principles.”

She explained that Begich is one of the politicians that should be replaced, and confirmed that she is considering a run for his seat."

I think she should run. She's matured a lot since 2007-8 and has became a more intellectual defender of freedom. She still fairly antagonistic to liberty in some areas, but I rather the seat go to her than to a standard Republican or to a Democrat. I'd hope that she's gravitate towards Paul and Cruz.

Re: Sarah Palin considering 2014 US Senate run
Imagine Palin, Clinton, Reagan, and Obama walking into the Philadelphia Constitutional Convention as the signers debated prior to finalizing the Declaration of Independence.

Up against the minds of the Declaration signers in that room, the aforementioned would look like they were mentally feeble.

Imagine Sarah Palin attempting to discuss 'Leviathan' or Locke with the founders. Can you imagine their horror when Palin opened her mouth and gegan to speak. A fly among eagles. An imbicle among scholars. Her range and scope run from A to B and go no further. As deep as puddle on a pyramid point.

I don't know how we've become so dumbed down, but if one needs any evidence as to how far down the idiot trail we've gone they need look no further than Ms. Palin.

I agree with you completely, but I don't see how that has anything to do with whether or not Palin should be voted into Congress now, given the realistic options before us.

If you wait for someone of the caliber of the Founders, you'll be waiting until long after the end of America.

Were Alaskans impressed by how quickly she resigned as governor? Senators serve longer terms, she might have to resign even quicker.

On the other hand, she'd spend most of her time in DC, not Alaska, so maybe she'd like the climate better.

After she was chosen as vice presidential candidate she was attacked from every direction. She decided to resign. She left the state in good hands and ended the circus so Alaska could get on with its own business.

There's also another facet that you haven't mentioned - recognizing that Obama had won, she knew that the new Democrat administration would target her specifically, and Alaska would suffer.

OK. And? She opened her mouth and said the obvious - the Obama campaign was full of shit. When Obama won, she was afraid they'd target her just like they targeted all conservatives and libertarians. Let's not forget about the IRS targeting of conservative groups and Homeland Security's labeling of militia and libertarians as domestic terrorists.

She's the reason McCain lost.
And McCain is a scumbag of the highest magnitude.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 2226485

Bullfuckingshit. McCain didn't have a chance. All the polls showed it. She re-energized his campaign and the conservative movement generally. She did more for conservatism in 2008 than any conservative since Reagan. Bush sr let Reaganesque conservatism die. Gingrich fucked it up and turned it big government in the 90s. Bush jr went global.

Conservatism was done, embarassed, fucked. The only "conservative" movement in 2008, before Palin, was the libertarian movement. Ron Paul was energizing conservative - and that was it! There was pretty much was no popular conservative movement. No candidate energized the people, and that's why liberal fuckhead McCain was nominated in the first place.

Palin changed all that. She got people excited about conservatism and limited government. She spoke to the average conservative American, not to the pompous libtard, academic fuckheads in DC and the cities. That's why the media turned on her.

Furthermore, women turned on her because women can be bitches. If there's one thing women hate, it's other women who they think are a threat. Palin was a threat to the liberal monopoly on "women's" issues. She was hot, rejected abortion, was for limited government, for letting women live as they want rather than in the mold of libtard fantasy - and to top it of, was actually a successful female conservative! I.e. she got to the fucking top without adhering to libtard junk-science! Talk about a walking threat.

Sure, she's no Paul or Reagan, and definitely not an ideal political candidate, but she's better than 99% of what's out there on the conservative side right now.

cheers

Yeah, I forgot about the jealously part. There's a deep jealously in many women of any women they think are a challenge. The thing about Palin was she was effortlessly successful and happy. By this I don't mean that she got where she was without effort, but rather that the so-called struggle that women face against the "patriarchy" simply didn't affect her. She got to the top as a human being, not as a victim of so-called social injustices.
