After she was chosen as vice presidential candidate she was attacked from every direction. She decided to resign. She left the state in good hands and ended the circus so Alaska could get on with its own business.

There's also another facet that you haven't mentioned - recognizing that Obama had won, she knew that the new Democrat administration would target her specifically, and Alaska would suffer.

Noone targeted her, until she opened her mouth.

OK. And? She opened her mouth and said the obvious - the Obama campaign was full of shit. When Obama won, she was afraid they'd target her just like they targeted all conservatives and libertarians. Let's not forget about the IRS targeting of conservative groups and Homeland Security's labeling of militia and libertarians as domestic terrorists.

She's the reason McCain lost.
And McCain is a scumbag of the highest magnitude.

Bullfuckingshit. McCain didn't have a chance. All the polls showed it. She re-energized his campaign and the conservative movement generally. She did more for conservatism in 2008 than any conservative since Reagan. Bush sr let Reaganesque conservatism die. Gingrich fucked it up and turned it big government in the 90s. Bush jr went global.

Conservatism was done, embarassed, fucked. The only "conservative" movement in 2008, before Palin, was the libertarian movement. Ron Paul was energizing conservative - and that was it! There was pretty much was no popular conservative movement. No candidate energized the people, and that's why liberal fuckhead McCain was nominated in the first place.

Palin changed all that. She got people excited about conservatism and limited government. She spoke to the average conservative American, not to the pompous libtard, academic fuckheads in DC and the cities. That's why the media turned on her.

Furthermore, women turned on her because women can be bitches. If there's one thing women hate, it's other women who they think are a threat. Palin was a threat to the liberal monopoly on "women's" issues. She was hot, rejected abortion, was for limited government, for letting women live as they want rather than in the mold of libtard fantasy - and to top it of, was actually a successful female conservative! I.e. she got to the fucking top without adhering to libtard junk-science! Talk about a walking threat.

Sure, she's no Paul or Reagan, and definitely not an ideal political candidate, but she's better than 99% of what's out there on the conservative side right now.

I couldn't have said it better.

I would only add that I think there was a lot of jealousy involved too. An intelligent, articulate, attractive, and worst of all conservative woman. Can't have that.
