I just ate a whole bag of spinach and a whole tomato. Ask me a question.

I have a culinary question for you cooking geniuses :)
I have a lo mein recipe that calls for 'two inches' of grated fresh ginger root, but I don't have any. I do have powdered ginger however. Can I substitute the powdered for the fresh? I'm thinking I have to cut way back since it's powdered. What do you guys think?
Quoting: BioReaper I would say season to taste. The powdered ginger has a lot less kick than fresh ginger root (less zinnng!) but you don't want to overpower it with that flavor either. It will have a different taste than the fresh but I'm sure it will still be good.
