and yea, i know "best" is hard to define. But what shoemaker or company out there has such a great reputation.

I am not much into timberland but their Eastern Standard series seems to be some of the best I can find. Better than red wings, vintage shoe company, sorel etc.

thanks for help.

I have a fine pair of leather work boots that i don't think will ever give out on me. I am still going in the same direction but with a bit more elegance for casual days and formal occasions.

That's because Eastern Standard were made by real shoemakers back east for Timberland not by Timberland. Good boot, runs a bit big and no half sizes.

how is buying one pair of fine shoes that will last a literal lifetime and beyond retarded?

John Varvatos, Frye were some other brands I was looking at for those that have some working brain cells.

People seem to think it is normal to have 100 pairs of cheaply made shoes or others seem to think it is a smart move to buy a new pair of 100 dollars shoes every year...

Give me a 500 dollar boot that will last a lifetime k thanks.

Btw got my fine all leather and gortex work boots at the red white and blue for 14 dollars because some dumbass didn't seem to know what he was throwing away....

Be smart...save your money...those western steers at Walmart are nearly indestructible...triple stitched...and inexpensive.

I've had the same pair for like 12 years...not even close to being worn out.
