The problem with this is, the NAACP cannot "pursue charges". They have no prosecutorial power. Secondly, Zimmerman is a private citizen, not a State actor, so he cannot be held liable for civil rights violations under Section 1983 or any other civil rights statute. This is pure posturing by the NAACP.

I saw on another thread that Trayvon had a weapon at home in his room is that true? I had never heard this before, as we dont hear much about the case over here.

As for profiling, why shouldn't statistical fact be part of common sense? 4 year old blonde blue-eyed girls are not known to shoot people and blow up planes or mug others for drug money. When that starts to occur, then I am sure THEY will be added to the statistical probability equation.

Profiling is a defense mechanism based on probability of an action. Just like animals in nature develop defense mechanisms, so do we. Why do you think GOD did that? Or if you do not believe in GOD, why do you think nature works that way? Self defense is natural. Sad that a young person died, but I am sad when a child dies of cancer too.
