Trayvon was 17. He wasn't a little boy. In many states, that age is considered as an adult. As an adult, you don't assault people unless you have a really good reason or it is a last resort. One of the reasons you don't do that is because your ass might get shot, beaten to a bloody pulp, or thrown in jail for a long time. Trayvon is dead because he didn't know how to behave and interact. I am sure that if he would have asked Zimmerman who he was or what he was doing; Zimmerman would have been more than happy to calmly explain it to him and Trayvon could have gone on with his life. However, I suspect that this interaction didn't even get that far. More than likely, Trayvon was up to no good and didnt want somebody reporting him or monitoring his activities. He knee jerk reaction to any confrontation or dispute was violence. People forget that he feloniously assaulted Zimmerman. Our society is actually better off without a person who behaves in this manner.

And yes he did deserve what he got. Live by violence; die by it too.

"Kids are kids". Just because a kid is a kid ( even though Trayvon wasn't even a kid) doesn't mean that there aren't real world consequences for the decisions that they make. Yes, it would be nice if he got some more chances but he made a really bad decision and that's on him. I made lots of bad choices when I was young and I was held accountable for them. I was just lucky that it never resulted in my death. But that consequence was always a possibility.

Of course Trayvon would not be dead if his first name was Martin and he was white, of course he conformed to several sterotypes, you can imagine Zimmermans lawyer to the jury, "I cannot emphasise enough just how black Trayvon was, of course my client had to shoot him, he had no choise, we all know what happens when sterotypical black males but their hands in their pockets."

I'd bet that crimes like this, and killing someone is a crime regardless of how guilt is determined or what colour skin they have, happen like once a month in America.

If this whole even really happened and I'm not 100% that it did, it is primarily a media event. The media created the stereotypes of the middle aged white do-gooder and the troubled black teenager long ago, thier main duty is to promote the doctrine of materialism which fuels both of the characters in the plot. One trying to grab a bit more and one trying to cling on to a bit more. Both characters
felt threatened by the other because of the media. The irony and the point we all miss if we are not careful to think things through, is that both the main characters in the story had more in common with each other than they did with their so called leaders. Both wanted a better life in a world that does not care.

So what do we get? America gets to relax, despite the government crack down on gun ownership, you can still shoot a black person. The governemnt can stir up division between different races, hopefully to such a sickening extent that they can cause some demos to take place and at least trial some marshall law scenarios. Non whites get to be grateful every time they leave the house and get to return alive and if they are murdered without cause in broad day light, their relatives will know that they are powerless to get justice about it. This story really ticks a lot of good boxes for those that rule over us with no trouble at all.

This piece of theatre, what ever lies behind it is being spun by the media to divide us. We the people need to stand together in the face of constant barrage of propaganda that some how qualifies as truth in our reality if we are not discerning, for it is only us who can change this world for the better.

I read the order of events differently. The dispatcher asked where is he?
ZM gets out of car to look, find a street name... (car door beeps)
dispatcher asks "are you following him?"
ZM "yes"
dispatcher "we don't need you to do that"
ZM "OK" stops following, heads back to car to wait, is attacked


ZM was already out of the car before told he didn't need to follow.
He was never instructed "not to follow" by a dispatcher
The dispatcher asked from more information which is why he got out
of the car to begin with, to comply with the request. Otherwise he would've
remained IN the car (as instructed by Neighborhood watch guidelines).

HOWEVER, don't forget, Zimmerman did nothing illegal by
A: getting out of his car
B: following

If he had, he would've been charged. If TM had lived, TM would've been
charged with physical assault. GZ broke no law, TM did. And the jury
found the homicide justifiable in self defense, so GZ still broke no law.
TM did. You can't punch people, straddle them, and bang their head into
the concrete.

I was a rebellious teen, but I was never stupid enough to attack an armed security and pound his skull into a concrete sidewalk. That's not the behavior of a normal 17 year old. I have been looked at suspiciously and profiled for no reason other than my physical appearance. It pissed me off, but I didn't let it get the best of me. If I had assaulted every asshole authority figure who judged me unfairly, I would have been dead before I was 15. That's life, get over it! She generally looks like the type of hyperaggressive hypermasculine bitch who starts fights and loves to pit others against each other and watch the fight. Yet she wants you to believe that she told him to back off Zimmerman. Note how it's clear from her testimony that she avoided the Martin familiy after his death and doesn't go to his wake. Note how Trayvon's dad cries when she is on the stand because he knows exsactly what happened.

Except Zimmerman didn't know any of this. All he knew, was some kid was walking down the street. He decided to profile, follow him and set the events in motion that killed someone. TM was just as scared at Zimmerman and also had a right to defend himself because he was being stalked. Just because Zimmerman was losing a fist fight doesn't mean he has an excuse to shoot someone. With rights come great responsibility.

The difference in mistakes are the ones you live to learn from and the ones that put your mortality at risk....

This is probably very true.

FL law says differently IF you are being attacked and you have reasonable fear
of your life being in danger. Check the jury instructions, read the law in FL.

If you want a different law, run for the state senate/congress. But don't try
to change the law in court to punish one man on a whim.
