I read your post. And I understand your point, but for a lot of people, there is much more to it than simply hate for crime in general. While I do get it that for many others they truly hate the crime. there's a lot you also don't understand about why the crime in first place. But there's little place for that discussion on this forum because it requires scholarly, reasoned, articulate, and open discussion.

Both Zimmerman and Trayvon Martin were of questionable character. They got into a punk fight. Trayvon was a punk who was expelled from school and wore clothing that identified him as a punk. Where were his parents? Why didnt they teach him to stay in school and NOT get into a physical fight with an insult? Zimmerman was also an arrogant thug. They both STUPIDLY escalated it and neither deserves anyone's "support."

Many years ago I was held up at gunpoint by an african american young man who looked somewhat like Trayvon. After he finished threatening my life for my bank card password, I could have run him down with my car. I did not, because I have self control, and I could not kill a person even after I was so horribly abused.

I was actually raised in southeast Alabama. The majority of my family still lives in Alabama.. Those parts of Alabama have seemingly moved further along in thought and treatment of each other than the people on this forum from all over the country.

Do you as an African American see where some of the attitudes towards AA come from?

AA are overrepresented in crime, social welfare and unemployment.

Every country in he world with a majority of blacks is under white majority countries in GDP, child mortality rates etc.

What are your thoughts on this.

So they wont protest or riot for things that concern them as a whole (occupy wall street was just 1000 hippies, lol, compare that to the protest in Brazil with hundredths of people). They are just that lazy and complacent and selfish.

The first thing people see about us is how we look/what we wear. It is not fair but it is true. We only have a split second till we make a judgement. I remember watching the movie The Pelican Brief and Denzel Washington was in a hurry and wearing a hoodie and tried to flag down a taxi. The taxi stopped but when the driver saw it was a black man wearing that hoodie he sped off. Denzal, being a very smart political reporter, realized the faux pax he had made and was none to happy. And this was made in 1993. Things haven't gotten any better unfortunately. We must be very aware how other people view us.

I was at a sports bar in my city where upper middle/ upper class people hang out.

I was watching these men with their happy moment, glassware clinking as cheers all around. I thought about how many families were cheering Zimmerman on, how many other restaurants and bars were packed with celebrating patrons. Or how many people were celebrating silently inside themselves.
